My birthday week!! Brought a gorgeous new member of our herd home. My husband has named her Millie Moo🫶.
Went for a softbait in our jetboat and brought home 12 nice fat snapper.
Also managed to strike a fish with a tipwrap and broke the tip off my favorite rod 🤬. Lucky i know a rod builder 😉👍
Ground some fresh wheat berries and made a sourdough bread, on which we had homemade butter, and homemade Marmalade and it was delicious.
Topped my day off with a nice quiet dinner at friends.
Now I have a stack of rodwork to do, including my own.
Life is what you make of it.

Further to our boatramp shenanigans yesterday. We decided after we had the boat on the trailer that we deserved a beer. So over the road at the Kaiaua pub we went. I stopped to take a photo of all the mud inside the jet unit at the back. There blinking back at me was a wee crab. He must have been sitting on his mud bank contemplating muddy crab things, when we whizzed over him and sucked him up.
I caught him and walked over the road and put him back in the creek where he's still telling his mates about how he survived a tornado. 😆🤣

Our big boy Iceman dipped his paws into the world of dog showing on the weekend and it seems his presence rattled a few cages. A friend pointed out that there was a show called Battle of the Mastiffs happening locally and he thought we should go have a crack at it.
So we came away with a first placing in his breed class which was pretty cool for a first timer.
The other cool thing was his daughter Leila and his mother R***r were also there showing three generations of Montopoli dogs.
We also did a professional photo shoot after the show, and came away with some pretty awesome photos.

You're no bloody help boy, but I sure love your company 🥰

Besides rod building and lure making. I'm also an avid gardener. This must be what happens when you combine the three 😆
