I spotted these guys out and about over the weekend and couldn’t help but notice the vehicle graphics I designed for them back in 2023 — still looking so good!

This project included their logo, business cards and vehicle graphics, and it’s always pretty cool seeing work Icreated years ago still out there doing its thing in the real world.

Approved moodboard for Flight School Branding 🙌🏼

For Renaissance Organic Hair, I wanted the website to feel like the salon itself. A calm, natural retreat in the heart of Nelson, with beautiful hair, conscious products and genuine care at the centre of everything they do.

This refresh wasn’t just swapping out images and tidying up the design. I reworked the messaging, positioning and structure of the site so it was clearer, flowed better and spoke to the people they want to attract.

We brought their values around natural, ethical, sustainable and cruelty-free products to the forefront, let their amazing before-and-after work do plenty of the talking, and made the whole booking process much easier.

Then, of course, I got to make it all look good too 😉

While I am working on fonts, colours and layouts. I’ve got a marketing background too, so I’m also thinking about the bigger picture. Who are we talking to? What do we want them to understand? How should the brand feel? And most importantly, what do we want them to do next?

Well designed is good. Well designed + strategic is much better.

Bit of BTS of July at Day One Design and life. Half of this month was school holidays. So that shakes things up a bit!

I went away and didn’t open my laptop which is always nice - I need a full digital detox every now and then.

Then it felt like I didn’t have too much on, a bit quieter than usual - then bam, booked in a few big and smaller projects.

It can be a bit of a roller coaster this hustle but it’s worth it! ❤️❤️

Hard Truth.
Good branding does matter. That logo without strategy and pixelated graphics you’ve been using could honestly be losing you customers and $$.
