On Sound Selector this week: For those of you who are still awake, you may remember that last show we had Part One of a tribute to the late and legendary DJ - John Peel, the original pirate material.
Every year around this time, he ran a Festive Chart of 50 – 60 of the best tunes from the year as chosen by listeners to his BBC Radio show. For these two shows, we have culled samples from the genuine John Peel Festive Charts for 1977, 1978, 1981 and 1986.
In Part 2 this week we take you from No. 33 down to No. 1. Who will be in the top spot? Without too many spoilers, it can be revealed that this band have 3 tunes in the top 11.
Relieved? You will be. Sound Selector – Festive 50 ish, This Thursday 1st January 8 – 10 pm repeated on 8th January, same time, same place, same channel.
Only on Freshfm.net (Worldwide) or 104.80 (Nelson Region), 95.0 (Takaka) and 88.9 (Blenheim).
