In conversation to a full house event with the amazing Dr Lucy Hone. One of my heroes. Taking all the science, academia and vast studies then translating it all for us in her resilience guidebook. Navigating life's toughest times. Living Losses are often dismissed, walked alone or without a compass...until now.
Refit the jigsaw pieces of life, find your Islands Of Certainty or recreate meaning. No pop psychology that rarely fits our lived experience. All of this makes Lucy's book essential in our messy lives.
Poignant and personal, what a joy to host Lucy and hopefully each person took some colour home.
This...this is why I do what I do and I love it.

Huge thank you to Wairarapa Autism Charitable Trust, Copthorne Solway, Bob Francis and Sally Chamberlain, David and Julie and all the generous sponsors.

๐ŸŒŸ The Nowhere Boy by Anne Cleary
Winner of the Fiction Prize.
Tense tangle of motive and mystery...a race to
find 3-year-old Apple-Man. A brilliant debut!

๐ŸŒŸ The Other Catherine by Lauren Keenan
Two women separated by a generation and
culture with threads winding back to Keenan's
first novel, The Space Between. Superb, bold
narrative exploring the impact of Transportation
and colonization on women.

๐ŸŒŸ Three Reasons For Revenge by Dervla McTiernan
How long does one wait quietly throughout the
years, watching and waiting for a moment to
seek revenge? Intricate detailed mystery from
one of the best. A new series so the perfect
place to start reading Dervla!

Still buzzing from the experience that Auckland Writers was! Wow, definitely something for everyone and records were broken this year in events, attendance and book sales. Here are some titles you may have missed but can be purchased www.booksonline.co.nz
Particular personal highlight was hearing .doucet Foreign Correspondent and the brain jolt of hearing Karen Hao ( Empire of AI).
If you can, pencil in 2027!
