Here's a job we did a while ago , we had to make a spacer to go between a Scope and thermal adaptor , as the original one wasn't a good fit and the scope didnt hold zero on the target. We started by measuring the internals of the adaptor and found it not to be completely round , so we machined the bushing down to be a snug fit on the OD ,and slowly tapered the inside to suit the OD of the scope. We cut the bushing in half and assembled it. With everything being a snug fit the scope started to hold zero .

Went to do some work on this rifle and wondered why I couldn't undo the action screws. Another example of why you need to do preventative maintenance on your fi****ms.

Managed to get another one finished this week , a Sako 85 222 for a new barrel . A quick borescope revealed quite a bit of rust and pitting . We inspected the action and checked the action face to the locking lugs with a micrometer and it looked in good shape , all three locking lugs on the bolt were contacting inside the action so onto fitting the new Truflite 1-9 twist barrel . Just need to head to the range and see how it shoots .

Trigger job this week , a nice anschultz 22 which had some pieces missing from the trigger, unfortunately being an older rifle there is nothing available on the shelf locally , so we had to make up a threaded sleeve and locking nut for the sear adjustment so we could make it operational.

Another thread job done , this time on a new single shot bergara , we quickly made up some bushings so we didnt mark the cerekote finish . This one also had a 1/2 to 5/8 adaptor for different muzzle device s .

Barrel fitting a chambering , this one is a 308win , there is a bit of time checking and double checking that everything fits properly , the threads dont bind and there is clearance where is should be . A bit of time to polish things to make it tidy , shiny stuff shoots better or so im told . đŸ˜†

Action time !! Have two Re*****on short actions builds on the go at the moment, we gave them the once over before making two many decisions . The recoil lugs on one of the actions were a bit worse for wear with some deep gauling marks in them , so we decided to clean them up , this worked out ok as one of the bolts provided had no handle which will need timing etc anyhow.A quick tidy up for the other action on the critical faces and a light lap of the bolt lugs and we're good to go to start taking measurements for barrel fitting .

Anyone run into this problem? Howa 223 in a chassis system with a 10 shot mag . The customer was having a feeding issue and brought it around for us to have a look at. We found the bolt was not coming back far enough to pick up the round when the bolt was cycled and it was riding over the top of the case , effectively short stroking the bolt ,. We had a couple of different options , wait for another magazine to be ordered or we relieve a bit of material on the bolt stop so it will let the bolt come back a bit further , in the end we did the modification on the bolt stop as we think the problem is a design flaw with the magazine .. somthing to watch out for .
