My latest lot of chicks have been without mum for quite some time now grown big enough to not need her, pineapple has really lost the yellow and got the final color pattern which I think is so cool and of course showing signs of being a rooster, just my luck I already have a rooster for breeding, 6 roosters from last lot of babies to sell, even so I don't think the kids will want me to sell pineapple and I don't think I want to sell him either the color pattern is just so pretty

I've heard it said when raising animals you shouldn't have favorites but how can I not, pineapple is just getting cuter as (hopefully she) grows up, the grey wings and tail just adorable 😍 they have gotten a lot more friendly running to me as I come to them with food and letting me sit down next to them as they eat

The beginnings of a new garden area from an old idea I didn't like anymore, pulled it apart and a new white portal entrance built, I'm using old sheep netting and left over chicken netting to make little huts and tunnels that I plan to grow some kind of climbing plants on 🌱 what plants exactly I don't know 🤔 got a small pile of random bits and pieces I'm sure I'll find a use for in the area

I've taken to doing cross stitch lately, fun little preprinted kits, this one is being bit a c-word, I'm not a fan of this style of block color coding, symbols are a lot nicer, the dark purple squares are two very similar dark purples that knowing what purple I should use is pretty much impossible, if I actually finish this I'll be impressed, the urge to throw it in the bin is definitely there

Hatched out yesterday we have 5 new chicks, kids have named the yellow one pineapple, the grey one rocky, while the 3 black ones have no names probably because we already have so many they're not that exciting 😄

Hope everyone is keeping well in this crazy wind we're having, not ideal weather for doing many of the outside jobs on my very long list so I've made it a sewing day, bus feels like a boat in some of them gusts

An order I sent off to Australia recently, consisting of 1 custom made pair of adults shoes (the pair I made wrong and had to fix 😂) couple pairs of kids shoes I'd started making that I finished for the order and couple pairs I had ready made

Woops!! can you see what went wrong with this pair of shoes? Don't know how I didn't spot my mistake sooner 😞 guess this what happens when you aren't sewing most days, best get the quick unpick out and fix this before I send them out to the owner, I'm sure they don't actually have two left, that's just an expression after all

Pruning trees and pulling dead leaves from cabbage trees I found the coolest bird nest, 2 nests joint together, definitely keeping this and going to have to think about what I could do with it, got quite a lot of bird skulls and other bones, sooo yeah possibility are definitely there.

It looks like I chopped down a forest and I kinda did, but I had to.
The winter time sun is lower in the sky and the trees had gotten so big they were blocking the sun from the solar panel. While it was an impressive and very pretty forest I quite like having power to change my devices and use the water pump, so a heap of stump pruning was needed, going to fun and interesting watching what didn't die from the pruning grow back in spring, I'm not quite done the 2 pine trees are going to have to come down and there's still some tiding up to do.
But hey I'm getting there and at the end of I'm going to have quite a bit of fire wood once it's had time to dry in a year or two.
Thinking about fencing the area sometime after I'm done and moving the chickens in there, them being little forest birds I can imagine they will absolutely love it in there, that's going to be so awesome to watch them playing among the bushes.

Sometimes my wool blankets get used as a room divider, should fingers crossed make it easier to warm up my sewing space on the cold days coming, no need really to heat the whole bus when the kids aren't here playing in the front half, not all that fancy looking but if it works so be it can always fancy it up later, here's hoping it works
