NZSBK 2026

Round 3 for me was a bit of a disaster and one I won’t be looking back on in a hurry. I was always told that if I had nothing good to say, say nothing at all. Hence the lack of updates and posts at Hampton Downs.
Race 1 we lost our 2nd place points due to 2 protest towards our bike. 1 protest went through and to the rules it was correct. I don’t really want to go into detail about but I do want to mention it happened and we accept that we were in the wrong.

Race 2 I unfortunately had a big high side and landed infront of my bike which then decided to give me one more smack as it skated into me as it came to a stop.

Race 3 was going to hurt as both knees had started to swell up and limit movement but as soon as the lights went out good old adrenaline kicked in and I had a really for race for 3rd.
Hampton Downs I only walked away with 13 points out of the maximum 76. This really hurt our championship chances.

Round 4 at Taupo I put the focus back to having fun and we achieved just that. It was always going to be a battle to run at the front with how sore and limited my movement was but I believe we gave it a good nudge.
Race 1 we crossed the line in 4th after a good run in 2nd and 3rd at the start.
Race 2 I dropped off a lot in the 14 lap TT race but in the final few laps a few riders dropped out and came home in 2nd for the TT.
Race 3 I had the most fun I have had in a long time. Racing for the lead for 80% of the race and again dropping slowly to 3rd in the final laps.

So for 2026 I finish the series in 3rd. (My 4th 3rd overall and now 7th top 3)
Congratulations to Rogan and the M1 team. M1 have put a superbike on the grid for many many years and if it wasn’t for people like Moggy a lot of riders wouldn’t have the chance to swing a leg over a superbike.

Massive thanks you to KMD and all involved. The highs and lows are made so much better in a great environment.
Also my personal sponsors for the continued support.

Time for a little break with some flat track and Maize paddock racing to fill the addiction then back into talks once dates are released for 2027 on if we can get things lined up for another go at being NZ #1

Another action packed weekend for NZSBK Rnd 2 along side the Burt Munro.
From the start of Friday we started feeling pretty comfortable on the bike and made some positive changes heading into qualifying that afternoon. For the first half of qualifying I was rather happy to be on the front row but was then bumped to 5th in the final couple of minutes.
Qual - 5th
Race 1 - 4th
Race 2 - 3rd
Race 3 - 2nd
Rnd 2 over all - 3rd

Over all a pretty good weekend. We really had to work hard to play catch up after losing out every time we got onto Teretonga’s front straight. I’m looking forward to Hampton Downs and Taupo where we will have more corners make up on what we have been losing in a straight line. I’m very happy with how we have the bike working.

Saturday night I once again rushed over to have some fun on the Flat Track bike. Turning up just in time to see the lads lining up for the first heat race.
Managing a 3rd, 2nd and a 4th in my heat races, taking me straight in to the A main final (qualifying 5th for the start)
Unfortunately the rain really picked up for the A main final and off the start I quickly realized (along with 3 other racers) that we had picked the wrong set up for the muddy conditions, resulting in us dropping to the back of the feild very very quickly. Apart from the last race I had a blast and was epic racing infront of a great crowd and against some international competition.
Massive thanks to the Flat Track family to hauling my bike down, taking it through bike check and getting it all ready for me while I was racing over the paddock on the superbike.

2 free weekends now to prep for the final 2 rounds, squeeze in some work and probably spend some time with the other half.

Grant, Red, Hank and Smokey, thanks a million for making my job that little bit easier as well as the rest of the KMD crew for the environment we have to work in.
Also my personal sponsors who continue support me in what I do.

See you at Motofest

NZSBK Championship Rnd 1:

After a rather average warm up to the season at Suzuki Series it was nice to back where we belong over the weekend at Ruapuna chasing the top step of the podium.
I finally felt some confidence back in the bike and new tyres which I've been battling a little bit with since the change.

Qualifying - 2nd
Race 1 - 1st
Race 2 (NZGP) - 2nd
Race 3 - 2nd

Over all points round 1 - 1st

We still have alot to unlock with set up and took away some valuable data from the 3 races over the weekend.

As always a massive thanks to Grant Shivas and the KMD Racing Team for the work put in between Suzuki Series and now as well as all the Team Sponsors and my own for supporting my 2026 campaign, a few days off prepping bikes and travel then we will see you at Burt Munro Challenge.

Friday- Sunday at Teretonga Raceway for NZSBK Championship
and Saturday Night at Southern Bolts & Fasteners Oreti Park Speedway for Flat Track

It’s guys like these that make sure the 43 is on the grid. Many thanks Daz. They also do amazing work so get in touch if you want your machine to be in its prime.
