Dave takes home 2nd after a late entry into the Top 16 Superclass today. Dave and Adam went up against each other in the top 4 but unfortunately Adam broke his gearbox so couldn’t finish the run, but luckily jumped into Dave’s car for the 3rd & 4th battle against but Connor took the win. Congrats to .pullenburry for taking the win.

Adam qualified 4th today at for the Top 16 Superclass, unfortunately Dave just missing out coming in 17th. First battle up will be a battle of the 3 Rotors with in his newly re-powered S14 👊🏻 🔥🔥

🏆 1st place!!!
Great start to the D1NZ Season with Dave taking the big W!!! A very challenging section but huge speed and a lot of fun, we’ll take the top step!! 🤙

Locked and loaded for another D1NZ Season 💪💪💪

The big rig heads off on Tuesday for the long haul down to Invercargill thanks to Rex, while the drivers & crew get a couple of cushy plane rides down on Wednesday 😅

We are stoked to return to the South Island and to Teretonga no less - we are pretty amped!!

Next weekend sees the double-header season opener and we can’t wait!!

So far this off season the aim has been to gain some drivability in the from a response perspective, and I believe we’ve managed to achieve some good results (on paper) with some changes.
I’ve struggled with this car for a long time with drivability, so I opted to change my intake manifold setup and go back to a standard unit. To make sure I didn’t do unnecessary work I made the call to bolt the standard manifold on without modifying it to suit the Semi PP ports just as a trial, meaning it now becomes a Stage 2 port only.
The only other changes I made for this trial were removing the 9x ID1550 injectors and replacing them with 6x ID2600 units.

I went to the dyno with low expectations to not get my hopes up, it’s fair to say the results were very positive but as I mentioned above, only on paper so far. We have managed to reduce the turbine back pressure substantially, reduce compressor rpm, add more timing and lower our base fuel pressure. With the previous setup we had maxed out the turbo on back pressure and compressor speed so we were unable to add more boost up top without increasing the back pressure dramatically.
We managed to gain a substantial amount of mid range power and torque and also improved boost response in the process, and believe it or not, there is still more to be had in the turbo, but we are maxed out on the fuel pumps now. We have definitely lost some top end with the change but I’m very happy with the result as I’m not hunting for top end. The Pro Jay manifold is designed for drag racing but thats not my sport.

I’m pretty sure 900whp is more than enough for what I’m doing 😅
