At Shaw Building, we know a great home starts long before the first nail goes in. It starts with great design.
That's why we love collaborating with Husk Design + Draft, Invercargill's residential architectural design specialists. Their custom design work, from initial concept through to detailed working drawings and building consent documentation, sets every project up for success. Combine that thoughtful design process with our 20+ years of building experience and Master Builders + Licensed Building Practitioner credentials, and our clients get a seamless journey from first sketch to final handover. All from trusted local teams who know Southland.

✨️Otatara Residence✨️
This build was centred around warmth, low maintenance, and making the most of every square metre. A raked ceiling in the open-plan living, dining and kitchen area brings a generous sense of space, while the master suite is thoughtfully positioned away from the kids' bedrooms which offers a wee retreat at the end of the day.
The north-facing deck ties it all together, seamlessly extending the living area outdoors and capturing that coveted indoor-outdoor flow.
Functional, warm, and effortlessly liveable = job done ✔️
