🐎 CELEBRATION 2026 – Year of the Horse 🐎

A child-friendly community event and a wonderful chance to experience Chinese New Year culture here in Southland 🎊🧧

Beautifully set up by dedicated volunteers — with several young women leading the organisation — the space has been thoughtfully prepared with displays and little surprises for families and children.

Chinese (Lunar) New Year began in China, but the values it celebrates are universal ❤️ -- Family, reunion, friendship, gratitude, and hope for a fresh new beginning — something shared by people everywhere.

This is the first celebration of its kind in Southland.
If you have time, come along and be part of it — you’re most welcome 😊

“Had a customer from Riverton who seemed very lost in this morning. I asked if everything was alright, and she told me her husband had just passed away. She married him when she was a teenager, and now she’s in her 70s. As she spoke, she began to tear up. She said she doesn’t know what to do, and asked if anything like that had ever happened to me.

I told her not the same, but when I lost my grandma while I was doing this same job, I cried for hours. Even after few years, the emotions still come back for no clear reason.

I asked if she had anyone around her, and she said her daughter is a police officer... so she might not be home very often. I added a soft toy to her shopping bag patted her shoulder she said thank you and left.

Sorry couldn’t offer you a better solution. didn't even know what to say to you. Unfortunately things like this do happen… the feelings are beyond words, strangely stays with us in ways we can't even explain but that at least proves the true love and real life. There are still people we love, and people who love us, that still matters. Life goes on.

It’s incredible how a simple mask becomes such a beautiful art piece — It might just be a mask, but it also reflects so much warmth they had from their families❤️

Hi just a quick note for the lovely customer who returned earlier — we refunded the extra $3.50. After checking the cameras, we saw the mismatch happened because the purchased glasses were put in your pocket after payment (you already had your own pair in your pocket before checkout).

You were very kind and patient❤️, so we just wanted to clarify as we were so confused and don’t always see you. Have a great weekend 😊

Hey everyone!

After seeing that amazing painted mask this week — and chatting randomly with a couple of parents — we thought it would be interesting to turn this into a little weekend challenge for our young artists.

We’re hoping to collect around 20 kids’ mask artworks over this weekend. Anyone who finds this interesting is more than welcome to join (School Year 1–8, 9 is also considered). Every participant's work will be featured on our page, and at the end, everyone gets to vote for their 1st, 2nd, and 3rd favourite masks (give a vote to themselves if they agree😊).

🗳️ Every participant gets to be both an artist and a judge!

🎨 About the mask:
You can send through a picture of brand-new creation or a mask your child has made previously.

📸 How to join:
Just send us a photo of your child wearing their painted mask (real face should not be shown), along with their name. That’s all!

(*We’re only collecting pictures based on the same mask this game, so it make more sense for voting✅)

🗳️ How voting works:
Over this weekend, simply tell us your child’s name and their choices for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place.

Dear customers,

We’re still doing Trick or Treat today! 🎃👻
We plan to finish around 6:30 PM, and we guarantee there’ll be plenty of lollies available right up until closing time 🍬

We had planned to mix different flavours, but since the delivery only just arrived, things have been a bit of a rush …

Lollies are ready: 270 single-flavour jumble packs and 140 mixed-flavour regular packs!
