Menโs Health Week NZ is something our team feels strongly about. ๐
We work with many wonderful male clients every week, and we know that for a lot of men, staying socially connected, asking for support, or prioritising their health doesnโt always come naturally.
Thatโs why we love creating opportunities for men to get out, stay active, and spend time doing things they enjoy whether thatโs a coffee outing, group activity, lunch with mates, appointments, or simply getting out of the house for a change of scenery.
Some of our favourite moments come from seeing friendships form, conversations flow, and confidence return through these outings.
This yearโs theme, โWhatโs Your Score?โ, is a great reminder to check in on all areas of health, physical, mental, and social wellbeing included.
A small step can make a big difference:
๐ Book the check-up
๐ Reach out to a mate
๐ Join the outing
๐ Get moving
๐ Talk about how youโre doing
No one should feel like they have to do it alone.

Today is World Elder Abuse Awareness Day. This is such an important day as we shed some light on a topic very close to us here at Driving Miss Daisy.
Seniors deserve our respect and our attention. Spend some time with them this week! Show your grandparents you care for them by treating them to lunch ๐

Alzheimerโs & Brain Awareness Month is one that feels incredibly close to home for our team. ๐
Our team has the privilege of supporting people living with dementia and Alzheimerโs every single day and itโs a reminder that kindness, patience, and genuine connection matter more than we often realise.
Being Dementia Friends is something our team is very proud of, and we continue to build our knowledge and skills so we can better support both clients and their families through every stage of the journey.
While transport is part of what we do, itโs often the little things that make the biggest difference:
๐ Taking the time to chat
๐ Offering reassurance and familiarity
๐ Helping someone maintain independence
๐ Being a friendly, trusted face each week
This month is about raising awareness, encouraging understanding, and reminding people that those living with dementia deserve compassion, dignity, and support within our communities.
To all families navigating this journey, you are not alone. ๐
