It's that time of year again! 2018 Home Show.

It's the last day of the 2018 Southern Field Days today, and we're glad to see a more positive outlook from the rural sector.

It's hot out there! All heat pumps are capable of cooling as well as heating. Here's some tips to get the best out of your heat pump for cooling:

1. Close curtains on windows facing the sun - prevention of heat gain through windows is the cheapest cooling available.

2. A high fan speed will remove heat at the fastest rate possible, and allow the compressor to give it's maximum capacity, and also improve distribution of cool air.

3. A low fan speed will maximize the dehumidification - most heat pumps have a 'dry' function for this purpose - use this if you find humidity is more of a problem than the temperature itself.

4. Clean - a clean heat pump is far more effective at cooling, and it means less likelihood of a drain blockage.
