One of the misconceptions we see is the idea that buisness owners need to hold everything themselves until the business is “big enough” for support.
But the opposite is true.
The longer everything stays with one person, the harder it becomes to grow sustainably.
Delegating admin doesn’t mean giving up control. It means creating space:
• space to think strategically
• space to focus on clients
• space to actually finish the important work
• and sometimes… space to breathe a little (we all deserve that)
Support doesn’t always need to look like a full-time hire. Sometimes a few hours of the right admin support makes a huge difference.

I recently had my car sign written.
To be honest, I wasn’t sure if it would be worth it for me, but I figured I spend time driving around anyway, so why not advertise while I’m driving?
Well… within the first week, I was visiting my daughter when their electrician spotted the car, started a conversation, and handed me his card because he’s at the stage where he probably needs some admin support.
It was a good reminder that visibility matters. I do have my contact details on the back of the car (it’s just a bit dirty to photograph today)
Not in a flashy or salesy way, just in the sense that people can’t work with you if they don’t know you exist.
Sometimes marketing isn’t complicated. Sometimes it’s just consistently showing up:
• online
• in conversations
• through referrals
• or apparently… parked in a driveway.
Have you ever had an unexpected lead come from something simple?

After four years of supporting this client across operations administration, training administration, and EA support, we’ve recently wrapped up our work together.
One of the nicest parts of what we do is hearing how much of a difference our admin support can make behind the scenes, not just to workload, but to stress levels, structure, and the overall day-to-day running of a business.
Feedback like this means a lot to our team:
"Tash and her team are just amazing. It really made such a difference knowing that whatever administrative issue you face, it will be fixed."
We’re incredibly grateful to have worked alongside such a great team over the past four years, and proud to have provided support that felt responsive, reliable, and genuinely helpful along the way.
Sometimes good admin support isn’t about doing one big thing, it’s about consistently showing up, solving problems, and helping things run more smoothly every day.

Woops, I disappeared for a couple of weeks.
My dad was unwell, and last week I said my final goodbye to him.
It’s been a strange season of grief, reflection, logistics, stories, and reconnecting with people who knew him across so many different stages of life.
One of the things that’s stayed with me from the funeral was hearing from lifelong friends and family about just how respected he was, not only as a sportsman, but as a person. There were so many stories shared. I don’t think he ever fully realised how highly people thought of him.
But in amongst all of that, I’ve been incredibly grateful to have a business that allowed me the space to step back when I needed to, a team who continued supporting our clients without missing a beat, and clients who showed understanding, patience, and kindness during a really difficult time.
It reminded me that behind the emails, meetings, deadlines, and deliverables, there are people trying to navigate life as best they can, and sometimes things are out of our control.
I’m slowly returning to normal life and work this week. Thank you to everyone who reached out, checked in, or gave me space over the last little while.
📸The photo is a little acknowledgement of Dad’s sporting life....winning the National Snooker Championships in 1973 and representing New Zealand in Ireland at the Amateur World Championships, which was one of his proudest achievements.

A lot of people think virtual admin support is only for inbox management and calendar scheduling help.
We are so much more:
• Governance Support
• Coordinating board packs
• Transcribing/writing minutes and governance reports
• Accounts administration/bookkeeping
• Grant funding support
• Workshop/training facilitation support
• Drafting and sending contracts
• Setting up and coordinating meetings and webinars
And so much more
We’re not “a little extra” help, we’re core support for teams doing important work.
And we do it quietly, behind the scenes, so things just run smoothly.

A question we’re often asked is: “How does a VA agency actually fit into our team?”
At Admin Collective, we work inside your existing systems, follow your processes, and communicate like part of the team, without adding management overhead.
Curious what this could look like for you? I’d love to catch up and discuss further.

There are two types of people when it comes to admin:
1. those who deal with things straight away
2. those who leave it “for later”
And “later” either never comes, or somehow becomes…a much bigger job.

For Governance boards, a plan and consistency makes a significant difference.
One simple structure that works well:
1. Agenda sent 10 days prior
2. Reports submitted 5-7 days prior
3. Papers circulated to the board at least 3 days before
It reduces last-minute pressure and allows board members time to pre-read the papers so meetings stay focused on decisions, not combing through the papers.
Small process, big impact.

Some admin tasks are easy - but expensive.
Inbox management, document formatting, meeting coordination, and follow-ups don’t require leadership thinking, but they drain leadership time.
Delegating them isn’t a luxury. It’s a strategic decision.
