Interesting comments here by Mike Heron.
We wholly endorse what Mike is saying.

The courts are antiquated. People want access to technology, they can’t afford to litigate and the court process is too slow.

This is why we established Setting the Bar.

Using the online platform that Setting the Bar offers just makes sense, it’s what people want.

We cornered David recently to ask the question 'If he wasn't a barrister what would he be?'

We love his honest answers (like a good barrister he's included plenty of options ☺️)

"I’ve always been addicted to fine motor vehicles and going fast, so I suppose I might have been been a racing driver, or possibly a motoring journalist.
My mother had great hopes of me being a doctor, but that went down the drain as soon as I got to university and discovered pubs and girls.
I might have been a chef because I love cooking...or an author - which has always appealed as well"

Can I do the process myself...without my lawyer present? 🤷‍♀️

Yes! Our process is designed to allow non-legal people the ability to resolve their disputes.

Our mediator and arbitrator (Melanie & David) are both experienced barristers and used to resolving disputes for non-legal people.

We've changed the way people can settle disputes!

Do you have a sizeable dispute, but don’t have the time or financial means to go to court for a fully-fledged trial?

Up until now your options have been limited.

Setting the Bar is giving you a much more straight forward, cost effective access to dispute resolution.

What's the difference between mediation and arbitration?

In mediation, the mediator will use a process designed to assist you to reach agreement yourselves.

In arbitration, the arbitrator will hear evidence from each side and will make a decision. The arbitrator will ask all necessary questions of each side.
