💡 Would anyone argue with this statement? It makes so much sense! However in practical terms we do the opposite.

We train the squat blindly hoping that the exercise will strengthen and improve our hip. In reality - the squat and the loading of that exercise, if we don’t have the prerequisite hip capsule space, will only cause more problems. (That’s why you always hurt yourself!) 🤦🏻‍♂️

What makes more sense is training your hip to ensure it has the necessary mechanics to handle the loading of a squat. If you do, and your goal is to squat….enjoy and squat away! If not, work on developing the hip first! I’d love to help out.

PS - the same applies with deadlifts and your back. Or bench press and shoulders. 🤔

Round 2 wrapped up! The leaderboard is tight! 💥

2 rounds down of the Corporare Challenge and we are still on top by the skin of our teeth. Today was a real team effort, in two groups of 4 working hard to achieve the fastest time possible.

As always, thanks to super trainer Dave McLean for all the work he does, although we may not be as appreciative while we're doing it!

See you again in a few weeks' time for round 3.

I love it when injuries don’t become a road block for people’s goals! 🚧

Road blocks need specific training inputs to get better - not just some squats and a banded exercise you saw a guy doing at the gym…🤔

Last week I caught up with the team to talk wellness and lifestyle.

Sore shoulder??
You’re probably working outside your shoulders active range of motion. This never goes well. 🫠

Most treatment plans revolve around treating what hurts, rather than addressing the cause. Treat it, rest it, repeat the injury. 🤦🏻‍♂️
