πŸ‰ ALBION SENIOR CLUB PRIZE GIVING πŸ‰

Saturday night was our Senior Club Prize Giving, bringing the curtain down on what was, at times, a pretty bloody tough season for our senior club.

The results certainly didn’t go the way we wanted, with plenty of losses along the way, but through it all we continued to turn up, put teams on the field and represent Albion. That’s something everyone involved can be proud of. πŸ–€πŸ’›β€οΈ

A huge congratulations to all of our prize winners. We’ll be sharing photos of the winners so make sure you give them some love and recognition for their efforts throughout the season. πŸ‘

πŸ† NEW LIFE MEMBERS πŸ†

A massive honour was handed out on Saturday night, with three new Life Members welcomed into the Albion family:

πŸ‘ Craig β€œPills” Pullar
πŸ‘ Raymond β€œJack” Pay
πŸ‘ Richard β€œRichie” Robinson

Three blokes who have given a hell of a lot to this club over the years. A very well-deserved recognition of their commitment, service and contribution to Albion. Congratulations, lads! πŸ‘πŸ–€πŸ’›β€οΈ

πŸ† CLUB PERSON OF THE YEAR πŸ†

A huge congratulations to Jamie O’Neill, who was awarded Overall Club Person of the Year.

Jamie has put in a massive amount of work behind the scenes and made a huge contribution to the club this year. This award is very well deserved. πŸ‘

A massive thank you also goes out to our coaches, managers, volunteers, sponsors, supporters and everyone else who put their time into the senior club this season.

It might not have been the season we wanted on the scoreboard, but the people who kept showing up are what keep this club going.

Congratulations to everyone who took home an award on Saturday night. πŸ†

Up the Albion! πŸ–€πŸ’›β€οΈ

πŸ‰ MARRIED VS SINGLES 2026 πŸ‰

And that’s a wrap! Another Married vs Singles goes in the books β€” and what a game it was!

It was a game of three halves, with numbers a little shy on both sides, but that didn’t stop the usual carry-on and competitive spirit from coming out.

πŸ† Singles 22 – 29 Married?
Actually… the Singles got it done! 22–29 πŸŽ‰

For the first time in 5 years, the Singles have taken the win! There’ll be a few Married men having a long hard look at themselves tonight. πŸ˜‚

Huge thanks to everyone who turned up, got involved and helped make the day happen. The trophy now belongs to the Singles β€” until next year! πŸ»πŸ‰

Singles finally have bragging rights!

πŸ‰ Albion Married vs Singles – This Saturday! πŸ‰

One of Albion Rugby Club's favourite traditions is back!

The Albion Married vs Singles clash kicks off this Saturday at 3.00pm, with the famous J.C. McLeod Challenge Shield up for grabs before we roll straight into Trophy Night.

Expect plenty of laughs, a few old bodies trying to relive their glory days, and some questionable fitness levels as the Married lads look to defend their recent dominance while the Singles try to prove they've still got what it takes.

Making his much-anticipated return for another year is everyone's favourite "special needs referee," Goobs Millane, who'll no doubt keep both teams equally confused with his unique interpretation of the rule book. πŸ˜‚

Whether you're playing, supporting, or just keen for a good laugh before the presentations, get down to the club and be part of one of Albion's best annual traditions.

πŸ•’ Kick-off: 3.00pm
πŸ† J.C. McLeod Challenge Shield
🍻 Followed by Trophy Night

See you all there! πŸ”΄βš«πŸŸ‘

πŸ–€β€οΈπŸ’› LAST BATTLE OF THE SEASON πŸ’›β€οΈπŸ–€

It's been a tough season, but the battlers are up for one more challenge.

πŸ‰ Harcourts Gore Albion Senior Cs take on Wyndham Senior Cs at 1.30pm.
πŸ‰ MLT Allied Security Albion Senior As face Wyndham A at 3.00pm.

πŸ“ Both games at Gore Showgrounds.

It's also Sponsors' Day, so a huge thank you to everyone who has backed the club throughout the season. Join us for a BBQ and a few beers as we celebrate our sponsors and cheer the boys on in their final games of the year.

The results haven't gone our way this season, but we're proud that, apart from one unfortunate default by the Senior Cs, we've managed to field two teams every week. In a time when many clubs are struggling for numbers, that's something everyone at Albion can be proud of.

After the games, head back to the clubrooms to watch the All Blacks together and help us round out the season. Unfortunately, our planned live entertainment won't be joining us after being double-booked, but we'll still have a great afternoon and evening together.

A heartfelt thank you to our coaching staff, volunteers, sponsors and loyal supporters. Your dedication and commitment behind the scenes have kept this club moving forward, and we couldn't do it without you.

One last game. One last effort. One last battle.

Up Albion! β€οΈπŸ’›πŸ–€

100 GAMES IN THE RED, BLACK & YELLOW β€οΈπŸ’›πŸ–€

This weekend we celebrate a special milestone as Cole Birse pulls on the Albion jersey for the 100th time.

A tough, uncompromising forward who never takes a backward step, Cole has given everything for the club over the years. Whether it's making the hard carries, putting in the big tackles, or leading through his actions, he's been a player his teammates can always count on.

Reaching 100 games is a testament to his commitment, loyalty, and passion for Albion Rugby Club. It's a milestone that reflects years of dedication to the jersey and the people who wear it alongside him.

Congratulations, Cole, on your 100th game. A fantastic achievement, and one the entire Albion family is proud to celebrate.

Once Albion, Always Albion. β€οΈπŸ’›πŸ–€

Just two rounds to go! βš«οΈπŸ”΄πŸŸ‘

The Allied Security Albion Senior A's travel to Waikaka this Saturday to take on Vikings, with kickoff at 3:00pm.

Our Harcourts Gore Albion Senior C's head to Mataura, also kicking off at 3:00pm.

It's been a challenging season for both sides. Injuries, player availability, and commitments have tested the club, and managers have spent plenty of time scratching their heads wondering where some of the players who committed at the start of the season have disappeared to.

But one thing about Albion is we never stop turning up. We've had our setbacks, but we're no strangers to fighting through adversity. With only two weeks of footy left, anything can happen.

Get behind the boys this weekend, and don't forgetβ€”both teams are back at home next week for the final round of the season!

Go the Albion! βš«οΈπŸ”΄πŸŸ‘
