A Bit of Déjà Vu
Yes, we’re heading back to St Patrick’s College Silverstream tomorrow at 10.00am — this time on Field 1 — to meet their Under 15s again.
It’s unusual to face the same opponent twice in a tournament, but the Hurricanes format has three pools feeding into the Cup, Plate, and Bowl. The highest‑ranked third‑placed team is promoted into the Plate section, and this year that team is Silverstream.
Joining us in the Plate round are Dilworth School and Scots College.
Yesterday’s match with Silverstream was tight, so we know they’ll be keen to turn the tables. We’ll be giving it plenty tomorrow.

Day Two of the 2026 Hurricanes U15 Tournament
A big workload on Day Two with two matches scheduled. We opened against local Wellington school St Patrick’s College Silverstream on their home ground. With shortened fixtures due to the double‑header, we settled quickly and produced a composed 29–19 win.
The second match took us back to Maidstone Park to face St Peter’s College (Epsom, Auckland) — a big, fast, well‑drilled side. After picking up a few knocks in the first game and another during this one, our depth was tested and we finished on the wrong side of a 36–14 result.
A couple of reinforcements will arrive tomorrow to cover injuries and fill some playing gaps.
We move into the plate section (5–8) tomorrow, with our next match kicking off at 10.00am.
