Huge congratulations to our OURC athletes who have just competed their campaign with the NZ U22 team!! Fantastic racing was carried out at the 2026 Oceania U22 Teams Rowing Championships in Queensland, Australia. Our OURC representatives coming away with some well earned medals! 🌟🌟

Ferry’s back in service tonight. Trailers will make it through in time for on water racing.

IMPORTANT UPDATE
Due to ferry cancellations the Otago, Canterbury and Lincoln trailers will not get to Lake Karapiro for the NZ Universities Rowing Champs.

RNZ have organised ERG racing for the South Island Universities while the North Island Unis will race on water. Average times will be taken and compared to on water results to decide overall placing and points.

Victoria University have already protested and requested to join the ERG racing.

Further updates after 12 noon today.

104 crews across 34 events.
There will be a livestream for Saturdays racing - check Rowing NZ.

Fun fact: Dunedin comes from the Scottish Gaelic Dùn Èideann — the original name for Edinburgh. So in a way, OURC rowers are training in a little piece of Scotland. Legend has it the first settlers arrived, looked around, watched the rain falling perfectly sideways… and said: “Ah yes — this feels just like home.” 💦💨 So they stayed. And rowers do too — for the incredible facilities and opportunities at Otago University Rowing Club. 💛💙🖤
