Is your 4/5G modem in the best spot it could be?

Best place to position a 4G or 5G modem is near a window where it can receive the strongest mobile signal, ideally facing the closest cell tower.

Higher is usually better, so placing it on a windowsill, shelf, or upstairs room can improve performance compared to sitting it low behind furniture.

Avoid putting the modem inside cupboards, behind TVs, or near thick concrete walls and metal surfaces, as these can block or weaken signal strength.

From the 25th of December till the 5th of January the Netspeed Team will be on holiday hours, starting at 10AM and finishing at 8PM.

From January 5th we will be back in the full swing of things and regular operating hours.

By the end of 2025, 3G services will be shutdown in New Zealand as a part of the 4/5G network upgrade.

If you have any devices that rely on 3G, they will stop working after the shutdown.
