The Dog with Two Tails has closed. Thank you to the many lovely people of Dunedin who came and spent some time with us. Arohanui. Michael

Thank you to the lovely people who worked here and made it a howff. Thank you to the musicians, artists, and performers who played, danced, laughed, and sang here. Dunedin has an unusually high proportion of great musicians and wonderful characters. It's been good to have been a part of it for a while.

You might have noticed the redecoration of Bark! with a car through the wall. Well, it’s gone (we hope the woman is okay and that the bloke's ankle really hurts), and a new wall has gone up, and there was a massive hole in the floor, but that’s now sorted. This is great because the insurance isn’t going to fork out for loss of business.
TLDR; No jokes this year. The Dog is open and Bark! is back and open just in time for us to enjoy one last night of merriment at the Dog. Please come down to buy a drink, remember good times, listen to a great lineup of bands from 4pm, and spin a yarn or two with some mates.
Arohanui!

Against all odds we will be back for our last hurrah!
We’ve had amazing team of builders that helped us today and yesterday to secure our bar and make it safe for us to party!
So with only some minor adjustments (and a bit more plywood) everything will go ahead as planned!

Important things to remember!!
• There will be a lot of people wanting to farewell the Dog so please be patient and understanding with other customers and the staff!
• As this is our last day of trading we will be trying to clear some of our stock, which means we may run out of your usual but please support us by trying something new!
• As much as we can’t wait to celebrate with you all, please bear in mind it is also our last day working at the Dog With Two Tails. We’ve had an overwhelming couple of days and it will be a very long night for the team, so please be kind to us and understand we may be a little sad 😓
• Last but not least - HAVE A HECKIN GOOD TIME! 🐾

The last one!! Quiz night has always been such a great night for us at the Dog - always filled with smiling faces! We can’t wait to see all our regular teams tonight! We ask that you come before 7 to get a table!
And though we wish we could have you all, sadly we don’t have enough space for everyone! So please do not move our tables!
See you there 🐾

EDIT - Haberdashery has been cancelled
It’s our last week! We’re so sad to say goodbye but can’t wait to celebrate with you all before we go!
Tonight we have our final quiz, while we want to see you all there - we only have space for 16 teams! We recommend that you get here from 6.30 to get a table!
We are so glad that we get to have a final Haberdashery! Head down from 6.30 Friday to hear some music and see some high energy performances!
And to end with a bang on Saturday we have our DOGFEST! This will be such an amazing showcase of so many incredible musicians that have performed with us over the last few years!
We really hope to see over this next week to say goodbye and remember all the incredible times we’ve had!

Hosted by Australia's princes of PowerPoint, Sweeney Preston and Ethan Cavanagh, this cult classic makes its way to New Zealand after sell-out seasons at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, Sydney Fringe and a monthly residency at Comedy Republic.

A wild late-night showcase with a rotating line-up of Kiwi and international comedians putting the ‘show’ back into show-and-tell! A picture says a thousand words, and with more slides than Splash Planet, The Late Nite PowerPoint Comedy Showcase offers more words per dollar than any other show in the Fringe.

It’s easy to follow along with after a few drinks and it’s begging for technical difficulties, so grab your family, friends and anyone else who has endured boring work presentations or tedious uni slides as we all heal together.

This one-night-only Dunedin Fringe special will feature special guests Eli Matthewson, James Mustapic, Harriet Moir, Tama Alexander and Nicola Brown. It's not to be missed!

This is NOT a stand-up comedy, it's a comedy showdown between Dunedin comic, Gerard Dougherty, and Filipino act, Roland Mirabueno. Come along for some banter on colliding world views, culture, and more, dubbed the Shanghai Goons. The unlikely pair of comedians are both regulars on the local and international comedy scene.

Expect a lively hour with both comedians sharing the stage to debate (un)important stuff and improvised banter with audience members.

“Roland and I will have a good time riffing and improvising together,” says Gerard. “The show is all about having a good time with the audience.”

“Gerard is my exact opposite on stage,” says Roland. “He is a white, straight, progressive, calm man. It makes for some pretty interesting clashes.”

Only two quiz nights left! Make sure to come in early to snag a table before we fill up!
We have loved having you all come to our quiz nights and seeing the regular teams who take out the top spots! 🐾

Only two weeks left! We’d love to see you all come down for one of our upcoming shows - or just for a drink and a chat!
Starting out with our fan favorite quiz night on Tuesday - who can take out the top spot?
On Wednesday we have two comedy shows for Fringe Festival! Starting out with some of our favorite local talent; we have Gerard and Roland in their show Shanghai Goons! Then we’re stoked to welcome Australia’s princes of PowerPoint Sweeney Preston and Ethan Cavanagh!
Thursday brings King Leo in for his final performance with us, so come down after work for a wine and listen to his incredible blues set!
After King Leo has finished up for the night we have our last in house comedy night - Barking Mad! Let’s make it a full house for all the amazing comedians who’ve preformed with us since Barking Mad started up!
Then to end our week in the happiest way possible - we have Gerard and Roland back on both Friday and Saturday for their show ‘Shanghai Goons’!
We hope to see you all over the coming days!
