🎨 Bringing Moana stories to life through art. Her practice involves carving each individual wooden painted board, and then encompassing the imagery with glue dots to enhance a three-dimensional effect of the carvings. A common theme seen in Ana’s works is the connection of Pacific identity and storytelling journ

A special collaboration with Hazel from Saddle Hill Ceramics ☕️
I feel incredibly blessed to have had the opportunity to spend time with Hazel in her studio, learning, creating, and sharing stories over clay. Together, we've been working on a small collection of bowls and tumblers for Ana Teofilo Gallery-Studio.
I carved the designs into each piece, and Hazel brought them to life with her beautiful glazing and finishing touches. The result is a collection that reflects both of our creative practices and a shared appreciation for handmade craftsmanship.
We have just six limited edition bowls available in two sizes. Each piece is unique and truly one of a kind.
The mugs were created especially for the Gallery-Studio and are not for sale, but we'll definitely be creating some for the shop in the near future.
Available at Ana Teofilo Gallery-Studio.

The unveiling of the Tangata Moana Gallery at Tūhura Otago Museum is definitely one for the books.
Last year, I was commissioned by Tūhura Otago Museum to design the carpet for this space. This was a responsibility I didn’t take lightly. I spent time in the museum collection storage researching and holding artifacts that helped shape this design. I referenced over 20 Pacific artifacts from the collection, drawing inspiration from their patterns, motifs, and stories that reflect the richness and diversity of Tangata Moana.
This journey has been one of the most humbling and rewarding experiences of my artistic career. Like most projects, it came with its challenges, but I'm always reminded that God equips us for the spaces He calls us into.
I feel incredibly honoured to have contributed to a space that celebrates Tangata Moana here in Ōtepoti, and grateful to have shared this milestone with close family and friends, but most importantly my parents, my husband & children whose support made the occasion even more special. 🫶🏾🌺
Fa'afetai tele lava to everyone who played a part in bringing this carpet design to life. You know who you are.🤗

Restocked the regular Moana mugs with some new colour ways and funky patterns. Each mug is one of one and no two are ever the same.

Manuia le Vaiaso o le Gagana Samoa 🇼🇸❤️
As we celebrate Samoan Language Week with the theme, “E afua mai i mauga tetele manuia o le nu'u” “From the high mountains come the blessings of the village”
I'm reminded that Gagana Samoa is so much more than words. Our patterns hold stories of the past carrying identity, belonging, genealogy, and the connections that link us to those who came before us to where we are today.
Every pattern woven into this new carpet for the Tangata Moana Gallery at Tūhura Otago Museum is another way of keeping our culture visible, valued, and alive through art. Through design and storytelling, our heritage continues to be carried forward for future generations!!!💯
What a special week this will be for the Ōtepoti community as the Tangata Moana Gallery reopens its doors. It is a true honour to have designed this permanent carpet in collaboration with Tuhura Otago Museum Senior designer Anna Taggart who digitised the drawing 🫶🏾 and to contribute to a space that celebrates the stories, journeys, and connections of a growing Pasifika community in Ōtepoti🌺

The time has finally arrived 🥹😍
A very special project that has been quietly in the works for over a year is finally featured in the ODT today in collaboration with Tūhura Otago Museum. Such a humbling and surreal experience to be part of a once in a lifetime project like this along side an incredible team who help bring the vision to life.
So much love, thought, culture, and storytelling has gone into this journey, and I’m so excited to finally begin sharing more of it with everyone. If you’re in Dunedin, grab yourself a copy of the newspaper today 🤗
I’ll be sharing more about the project leading up to the unveiling of the Tangata Moana Gallery… watch this space 🌺

EXCITING COLLABORATION 🔥
Spent the morning with this incredible ceramic artist Hazel , carving away on these first little tester tumbler & bowl.
Still in the experimenting stage, but seeing how we can collab and still be authentic to our own practice has us very excited for what’s ahead. We’re definitely cooking something up together 👀
All I can say for now is… watch this space 😜🌺
