Another epic wee mission to replace the old 100yr plus sewer drains with new and re rout the stormwater drains ....all by pick,shovel,crow bar and wheelbarrow onto the back of tippy mc tipface the truck and away🥵....then gravel and concrete back in🤘💪
We earnt a beer that week🍺👍

A common story in Dunedin.....

A stormwater drain that overflowed under the house every time it rained threatening the stability of the foundations the home sits on😕
Understandably the home owner feared it was a total drain replacement and a major bank breaking operation🤦‍♂️
Thankfully they called us 😎
We locate the issue using camera and magic locater wand.....dig up, chop out, remove impressive tree root😳, reconnect drain, backfill......bing bang boom problem solved💪👍
Fair to say the homeowners were extremely grateful and happy customers🥳😁

We've been so busy with a run of strip drain and sump installations that we missed our 5 year anniversary 😲🥳

Another boundary trap replacement with tree roots getting into the joints and causing repeated blockages.
Bit tricky as typical 70s/80s house the power, phone and water just thrown in the drainage trench,backfilled with clay, dirt and rubble, power warning strip right on top of the cable 🤦‍♂️
The eagle eyed people will note we found the water pipe via shovel🙄....but all fixed now🤙

Another tricky fix for a damp basement bedroom and laundry area that had flooded twice in large rain events, insurance company getting snarky about continuing coverage so home owner got us in to see if we could help.
Luckily there was an existing subsoil drain we could tap into to take away the moisture/water👍 only hitch 🤔......we just have to dig/tunnel behind the wall, under the concrete footing, cut up and remove concrete path, tunnel under existing sewer and retaining wall to get to it......
Sounds easy right🤷‍♂️
Roll up sleeves, get stuck in💪bucket the dirt out 2 at a time from basement, smash up concrete and get on the shovels🥵
Seal the walls, lay the pipe.....
Then we get to fill it in and reconcrete the path like we were never there

Another epic mission to remove moisture getting in to a basement bedroom, no other way but to lift pavers, hand dig all the way around to below floor level, under stairs, sleepers and between shrubs then wheelbarrow out the dirt and clay onto the back of the truck, tip it and backfill in draincoil and clean drainage gravel🥵💪......then relay the pavers and backfill the garden as if we were never there🤙😁......fair to say the boys earnt their beer that week🍺🍻🤘

Wee bit of drain surgery😷 ....boundary trap replacement, typically the stormwater drain and watermain were in the way🙉🤦‍♂️..... but sorted💪

Then a good ol 2 for 1 ooopsy.😭.....builder boxing for a driveway got both watermain and drain with his peg⚡️💦💦😵😄🤷‍♂️happens.... nothing that cant be fixed🤙🤘

Here's a good example of a common drainage issue in dunedin's older homes that we sorted last week,and do often.

It is very common for this section of your sewer pipe to shift,Crack,leak,allow tree roots access or even completely collapse in on it self and cause blockages,often at the most inconvenient of times, certainly not fun,expensive to constanly unblock and often a great source of anxiety let alone the mess and gross smells🤢.....the best and most permanent fix is to dig it up and replace in brand new pvc pipe and fittings,once and for all.🤙🤘

We got called to this job to replace a broken downpipe only to discover that both the sewer and stormwater drains were not flowing properly.
After a hundred odd years or so the drains where leaking ,causing them to slump as well as tree roots getting into the joints .
Seeing as the home owner was getting a beautiful new exposed concrete driveway laid, now was the time to replace and regrade the pipes with new drains rather than run the risk of needing to cut up the shiny new drive in a years time😵
