Grab a legendary, oversized Southland Sushi at Pinot Junction (a cheese roll for those not in the know 😉), then pop next door to the Masonic Lodge on Melmore Terrace and pick up one (or more!) of these fabulous locally grown swedes.

Also known as a rutabaga, the humble swede is a hardy, nutritious root vegetable that originated as a natural cross between a cabbage and a turnip. With its creamy yellow flesh and mild, earthy sweetness, it’s the ultimate winter comfort food.

Boiled, mashed with lashings of butter and a sprinkle of Himalayan salt… absolute perfection. 🤤

It was a busy ole summer down here, on numerous levels, and we were beyond delighted when Caitlin joined the Pinot Junction fam 🧡

Originally from Mount Maunganui, Caitlin moved to Cromwell last April with her gorgeous young family and has quickly become an amazing part of our PJ community. Her versatility is awesome - you’ll find her baking, making coffee, serving customers, restocking The Store Room , and generally being super cool!

Her least favourite Cromwell thing? The inversion layer 😅

Her favourite? A stroll along the lake with her family… when it’s clear!

🥪 Current menu obsession: The Reuben Toastie (it’s climbing the ranks fast!)

This little icy high five (10?) on the picnic table by the talented (& brave 🥶) feels like the perfect reminder that winter has officially arrived in . While the mornings are crisp, the days have been absolutely stunning — & it’s been such a beautiful, busy week here at Pinot Junction.

🌟🌟 Meet Noémie 🌟🌟

If you’ve popped into Pinot Junction recently, chances are you’ve had a brilliant coffee from our newest (well, not-so-new anymore!) barista & front-of-house superstar, Noémie 🧡

Originally from Metz in north-eastern France, Noémie has called New Zealand home for the past four years and we’re very lucky she landed here with us.

A true hospo queen, she’s super calm when things get busy, can bang out hundreds of 💯 perfect coffees on busy days without breaking a sweat & somehow always manages to have us laughing along the way in a weirdly brilliant ‘kiwi’ way… she fits right in 😆🤭

Her favourite things about Pinot Junction are the incredible team, Holly’s famous brownie, our in-house baking, and a steaming bowl of kumara, carrot & ginger soup. (Excellent choices, if you ask us! 😋)

She loves New Zealand, we love having her as part of our little café family, and we’re pretty sure many of you do too.
