What an awesome way to finish the week!
On Friday, I took a group of 10 students on a mountain bike ride along the Whale Trail because they have consistently worked hard in class and demonstrated our school values. We rode from Tuamarina towards Koromiko and back, enjoying both the challenge and the beautiful surroundings.
The students were a fantastic group — encouraging and supporting one another throughout the ride, while sharing plenty of laughs along the journey. It was great to see their teamwork, positivity, and resilience on display outside the classroom.

On Friday, our school got behind Pink Shirt Day Aotearoa to raise awareness about bullying and the importance of kindness, inclusion, and standing together.
Our tamariki and kaiako wore pink with pride and took part in activities and conversations that linked closely to our school values of manaakitanga and whanaungatanga.

Together we can continue to build a culture of kindness, respect, and caring for others every day.
Check out our Whānau Kapa Haka group performing to the rest of the school. Ka mau te wehi 😎

Mr Stuart and Ms Wilks had a lovely start to their Friday last week, meeting with some wonderful writers over Milo and marshmallows.
They were both impressed with the improvement since the start of the year, the high standard of handwriting, and the fantastic vocabulary being used. It was lovely to watch older and younger students sharing their writing with one another.
It’s always special to acknowledge these students who so clearly display the Springlands School values in action.

Friday's assembly was run by Whānau Kapa Haka. I want to acknowledge all the mahi they have put in this year, it was great to see them perform to the whole school.
I'd also like to thank Whaea Jess and Whaea Brittany for all the work that they have put in as well. What an amazing performance!
Ngā mihi
