The Ripple Effect
Presentations dealing with the consequences as a result of a tragic crash and how making the right choices as a driver or passenger can save lives
The Ripple Effect is a personal presentation dealing with loss and grief after losing our son and his mate in a tragic road crash in 2009. By sharing our story and educating young people we hope future generations will be safer drivers and passengers on the roads. It is also a positive approach to dealing with our grief and allowing Nathan and Udo's memory to live on and have great meaning
35 today, Happy birthday Nathan !
Our lives would have been way happier and more interesting if you were still with us but the grief we’ve had to endure does not change the great 18 years we had you in our lives. Big love to you ❤️❤️❤️
13 years and we still carry the sorrow and loss. The events of that night are imprinted on our minds never to be forgotten. So much thought these days goes into what they would have been had their lives not been cut short.
RIP Nathan and Udo.
Yesterday we were informed of the death of one of Nathan’s best mates Jimmy who died in a mountain bike accident in Tasmania. We are devestated by this news and feel so much for Jimmy’s wife Amberley, their families and friends.
We will never understand why good people are taken from our lives.
We send our all our love to Ams and Jimmy’s family who unfortunately now have the difficult task of coming to terms wth his loss.
RIP Jimmy.
The Ripple Effect is now also dedicated to the memory of Jimmy.
Another anniversary to remind us of the worse time of our lives which unfortunately keeps happening to other families and friends left with the results of bad driving in New Zealand. PLEASE drive sensibly and safely everyone. To our boys, with each day in each year we grieve what we are missing not having you around. Love you guys and wish you were here!
We have decided to upload the full version of The Ripple Effect video onto this page in hopes that it can reach a wider audience and further educate people about road safety. Please feel free to share with your friends and family.
We do this out of respect to Nathan and Udo, Rest In Peace.
Thank you for watching our story.
Thank you everyone who reacted and commented to our post yesterday, your support was much appreciated on our special day of remembrance. The grief will never go away but we learn to live with it in mostly positive ways as we think and talk about Nathan. Again thank you and love to you all from Brent, Christine, Terri, Abby and Leana.
At approximately 6pm, 10 years ago today we lost our much loved sons Nathan & Udo. For both families, girlfriends and mates this event caused much pain and sadness. The silver lining has been the recovery of Pip as she has had to endure years of getting back to some resemblance of a normal happy life dealing with her injuries, our love and support will always be with you Pip. We sit and think of the boys and what could have been 10 years on at age 28. Missed opportunities of lives that no doubt would have been full with fun and love of family and friends. Every day without doubt we think of Nathan, our only son lost to us but also with us all the time, it’s so damn hard to come to terms with sometimes but fortunately we have our beautiful girls to give us happiness. We all love and miss you terribly Nathan. “All of my love to you” is so true. RIP our sons.
Today marks 9 years since Nathan and Udo left us. Time does not heal the grief and loss of losing these much loved sons. We miss you Nathan so much every day, "All of our love to you" as the song says.
The latest road crash tragedy in Levin resulting in the loss of three young men is truly heart wrenching. This one has really caught our attention due to one of the guys looking a lot like Nathan and the fact they all came from Porirua has bought it back to us knowing the extremely difficult week the families and friends are having right now and what is ahead for them all over the coming years. The Ripple Effect extends our support to you all. Be strong and care for each other.
Sorry Mel forgot to add your name in the post but especially for you we will for ever have you in our hearts. So good to see you travelling so much and seeing the world. Keep happy lovely young lady. Nathan will always be your guardian angel through life. All our love to you.
Just on 6pm this day 8 years ago we lost Nathan & Udo. Not a day goes by without thinking of them. To be able to talk to Nathan would be so great right now but as we can't we think even more about what we are missing. The grief of losing your child is so difficult to live with but life has to go on and we must all learn from tragedy how we may prevent it happening to others. Big hugs to Pip, Jadah, Rouhan, Elsie and Yohan. All our love to Nathan and Udo. Wish you were still with us.
