My Inner Palette
A self-taught watercolour artist that loves the unpredictability of the medium.
🌿 Reconnect with your inner wisdom through creativity, intuition & self-discovery 🌿
I’m Ingrid, a Holistic Wellness and Art Therapy Practitioner supporting emotional balance through mindful art, intuitive tools and creative exploration. Watercolour has been a teacher and has shown me how to let go of perfection and 'mistakes' to make them part of the painting's composition, which can also be applied to our life events.

🎨 Help me choose! 💛
I’ve been making these cute, portable watercolour sketchbooks by hand, and I’m getting ready to make a new batch ✨
The tricky part? Choosing the colour combinations! 😅
I’ve narrowed it down to a few options, but I’d love your help. Which combinations are your favourites?
Cast your vote in the comments; I’d really appreciate it!
And who knows… your favourite might end up being part of the next batch! 💕

MINDFUL ART WORKSHOP
A Creative Pause for Self-Discovery
Following the beautiful response to our last Mindfulness Art Workshop's survey, I asked participants what they would like to explore next, and their feedback inspired this new session.
This time, we'll create a gentle space to slow down, turn inward and explore what is waiting to be expressed through colour and creativity 🎨
We'll be working with watercolours to explore what's within us, and you'll create your own little non-stitched art journal to continue your creative journey beyond the workshop.
No artistic experience is needed; just come with curiosity and an openness to explore.
I'm delighted to be collaborating again with Colour + Light Art Gallery in Balclutha for this special afternoon.

📍 Colour + Light Art Gallery, Balclutha

There are moments when we don’t need more stimulation…
We just need space to slow down.
To breathe.
To switch off the noise.
To come back to ourselves.
In collaboration with Colour + Light Gallery in Balclutha and My Inner Palette, join us for a Mindful Art Workshop - a gentle creative pause where drawing becomes a way to unwind rather than achieve.
You don’t need any artistic experience.
Just curiosity and a willingness to slow down.
Through simple, meditative drawing, you may find yourself:
✨ feeling more present
✨ letting go of mental noise
✨ reconnecting with a sense of calm focus
✨ surprising yourself with what flows onto the page
And you might leave feeling lighter than when you arrived.
📍 At Colour + Light Gallery, Balclutha
📅 25 July | 2 - 4 pm
💲 $35 per person
🎨 All materials included
Spaces are limited - booking essential.
Either send me a message to book your space or reach out directly to Belinda at the art gallery. There are no other official ways of booking!

Let's begin Mindfulness July with this short video, where you'll not only be sketching but also be gently invited to reconnect with nature.
If you're feeling as chilly as I am at this time of year in the Southern Hemisphere, don't worry; you can still connect with nature through a potted plant, a few flowers, a view from your window, or whatever is available to you.
If you have the opportunity, though, I highly recommend stepping outside for a few minutes to soak up some sunshine and fresh air. Even a brief moment in nature can help you feel more grounded, present, and inspired.
I hope you enjoy this mindful creative practice 🌊🐚☀️

Mindfulness Month is about to begin in New Zealand, and one of my favourite ways to practise mindfulness is through creating art.
When I create, I am not focused on the end result. Instead, I allow myself to become immersed in the process itself - the movement of the pen, the shapes emerging on the page, and the simple act of being present.
Creative activities can be a wonderful way to release tension, reduce stress and anxiety, quiet a busy mind, and bring us back to the present moment. They can also help improve focus and hand-eye coordination, all while encouraging a sense of calm and flow.
Throughout the month, I'll be sharing simple mindful art activities that anyone can enjoy - no artistic experience required -
These activities can be enjoyed on your own as a moment of self-care, or shared with your children, family, and friends as a mindful and creative way to connect. The tools I use are simple and accessible, and if you don't already have them at home, there are usually easy alternatives you can use instead.
I invite you to follow along, give them a try, and take a few moments for yourself each day or week 🌿✨
