Bold in Black...

It was a pleasure to work with our lovely clients to design, manufacture & install this simple & fuss free kitchen finished in matte black.

Accents of European Ash timber were added to pay homage to the mid century aesthetic of the home's architecture.

Indoor plants soften any harshness created by the black cabinetry and black honed granite benchtops. There is also a secret door leading to another room amongst that wall of black... 🐿

We are excited to be colllaborating with Sophie from Artifact on the Jervois Rd apartments. Planning is well underway for the kitchens, sculleries, laundries, vanities and wardrobes! Our skilled team will spend the next 4 months constructing the cabinetry, some of which will be done on site given the complexity & access to each apartment.
4 levels, 8 apartments.
Also, we welcome our new team member Bruno :) who is full of great design ideas :) :)

Scott failed to tell me about the 124 vertical steps to this house nestled high on a bush clad hill on the rugged west coast of Auckland..... I was completely breathless to meet my new client.....Welcome to MURIWAI! Completely worth it - check out the view for yourself! (This is looking down on the path which is normally busy with tourists heading to Gannet Rock)
Designing this kitchen and taking the clients through our design & production processes was an absolute pleasure.
To echo the surrounding coastline and natural habitat we played with different timbers - staining plywood black and showcasing crown cut oak in all it's glory. Leathered black granite for durability and a complementary rustic look & feel. Couldn't go past a few pops of brass which I think are the icing on the cake!! .... and how cute are those shelves!!
