DLSS 5 has debuted in NBA 2K27, of all games, and there’s a lot to unpack here.

Unlike previous versions of DLSS that primarily focused on improving image quality and performance, DLSS 5 uses AI as part of the final rendering process to enhance lighting and material detail. In NBA 2K27, this means more detailed skin, facial hair, shadows and lighting on players, with effects like subsurface scattering making skin react more naturally to arena lighting.

But this raises a bigger question: is this actually what we want from video games?

As AI becomes more involved in rendering characters, are we enhancing the original artistic vision, or changing it in the pursuit of "realism"?

And at what point does "realistic" become uncanny? Is this really the direction gamers want games to go?

🔥 GTA 6 just got its biggest reveal yet.

Rockstar has finally given us an extended look at GTA VI, with almost 30 minutes of new footage showing off Vice City, Jason and Lucia, gameplay, activities, police chases and just how ridiculously detailed this world is.

After more than a decade of waiting since GTA V, the hype around this game is already massive. And with a November 19 release date now set, we're getting closer and closer to finally seeing whether Rockstar can live up to the expectations.
