Calling all Auckland futureFERNS! 🏐✨ Want to meet your Silver Ferns heroes? Come down to Woolworths St Johns this Thursday after school or training to get your gear signed, grab a photo, and say hello!

Across Netball North Harbour, Howick Pakuranga, Netball Waitakere, Auckland Netball Centre and Waiuku Netball Centre, 18 of our coaches have completed their NNZ Community Coach Award.

Special mention to Katharine Hamilton (Waiuku) who smashed out BOTH Level 1 and Level 2. 👏

Great coaching builds confidence, belonging and resilience. Thank you to every coach who shows up for their players.

Across the Northern region, volunteers are the reason netball happens; scorers, coaches, umpires, committee crew, the people setting up courts before anyone arrives.

She started volunteering at 16, the youngest in the room. 💪

At 22, Tyler Campbell is Vice President of Junior Clubs at Waiuku Netball Centre, runs the FutureFERNS programme, coaches a college side AND umpires every Saturday, all while working full time and finishing a degree.

Her philosophy? “How can we make this a yes?”

Tyler is our PIC Insurance Brokers Ltd Volunteer of the Month. Ka rawe, Tyler! 👏

From the Under-13s in West Auckland to the world stage and back home again. 🌍

Melissa Bessell has coached in Fiji, Wales and England, lifting a national side from 19th in the world to 8th. But it started with her mum, Netball Waitakere life member Sheryl Hyndman, refusing to let her skip the queue. “I had to earn my stripes.”

Now she’s Netball Development Manager at Netball Waitākere, the very centre her mum has given so much to, pouring it all back into her own community.
