Have your say:
Auckland Council is proposing a six-month trial of fortnightly rubbish collection in parts of Panmure and Tāmaki from late Feb to late Aug 2026. Households can request bigger/extra bins during the trial and would get a one-off rates remission.
Full consultation documents in the comments.
Feedback closes 31 Oct 2025—please share your view to council.

It’s over to you now…the election is nearly over. If you still want to vote, you can drop off your ballot in a voting box at your local Woolworths, and local libraries before midday tomorrow (Saturday 11 Oct.).
I have been honoured to represent Botany on the Local Board for the last 9 years. As a practical not political representative, I have loved being able to advocate for the community and remain on the coal face, connected to and helping residents.
The last term has been a productive one despite the budget challenges. Thank you to all those who have helped me throughout this election, delivering fliers, putting up my billboards and lending me your fence…it all makes a difference. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
You can check out my website at www.votebotany.org for more about what I stand for.

East Tamaki: Accent Drive Have Your Say (6–26 Oct)
Auckland Transport is proposing quick, low-cost changes to ease congestion and improve safety on Accent Drive.
What’s proposed
• Add an extra southbound lane by narrowing parts of the median
• Introduce a weekday clearway 3–7pm (parking remains outside these hours; side-street parking available)
• Add broken yellow lines in key spots for visibility and access
Why it matters
• Up to 17,000 vehicles/day (incl. freight)
• Afternoon bottlenecks and variable travel times affecting buses and businesses
Feedback is open now until 26 October. Have your say here: https://haveyoursay.at.govt.nz/easing-congestion-on-accent-drive

TODAY’S VOTING RESULTS – 5 DAYS TO GO
So far, 3,650 people have voted in the Botany Subdivision — that’s 16.6% of 21,931 eligible voters.
There’s still time to have your say and every vote matters. I’d be honoured to have your support to keep serving our community with a practical, community-focused approach.
Post or drop off your voting papers before midday, Saturday 11 October. Let’s finish strong, Botany! 💪

Congratulations to Conor Bowden, Alex Botha, Taylah Byers, and Randall Baker for being finalists in their categories!
