However, Auckland landscaping is going global, as this project has now been shortlisted at the awards later this year.

You may have seen our stories or reels of the 8 odd months of fast paced hard graft that we did on this project.

The client is an architect (), yet admitted landscaping is an entirely different skill set to what they're good at. The client gave us creative freedom to take the concept plan, and make it work. There were some massive design decisions we needed to make as we progressed, including spacial, planting, drainage and engineering, but the final results speak for themselves.

Shout out to the extended Colossal crew and suppliers that helped it come to life.

It's an honour to receive the recognition of a job well done.

We're shifting gears from prep mode, to response mode.

We've been working hard this week, preparing for the storm.

Our crew, trucks and chainsaws are at the ready for whatever comes.

The weather expected tonight brings the risk of further damage.

With the earth and root systems already saturated, along with the expected wind speed and direction tonight, there is a very real potential that a large number of trees will fall.

Potential for more ground erosion/flooding exists too.

Given this forecast, we are anticipating our focus to be on emergency tree work over the coming days. Our crew of qualified arborists with trucks and saws are at the ready.

Earthworks will also be a priority - clearing slips and debris and reinstating access.

We'll be prioritising storm related remedial work over the next while. For all non-emergency remedial work we'll be working with you to schedule this as soon as possible and once immediate risk to people and property has been taken care of.

Colossal is over 10 years old and based in Pt Chev. We cover both landscape construction/engineering and landscape maintenance. Our scope is outdoor-focused and includes everything from design, engineering, drainage, earthworks, landscape construction (retaining, fences, decking driveways etc) and arborist work.
