Roskill Rovers

Last week Monday, Roskill Rovers went out and about🥾around Auckland city to track down the Matariki light features. Unfortunately a few of the features were removed, but still here are some we saw. 👀

3 Roskill members traveled to Christchurch ✈️ for Matariki Ball and Tayla’s Booting. Thursday evening we had Tayla’s booting, it was a saddening moment but really enjoyed hearing everyone’s stories and speeches.

Friday was service day.🪏🥾🌳 Fantastic day of working hard, we were split up and did service at Rimu Park and at Corfe Reserve. I heard that Ewan was on the shovel for most of the time. Jadzia and Aidan got up to some planting and weeding.

Saturday we travelled around Christchurch and in the evening was the “Ball”. Sharp dressed rovers in fancy clothing.

Sunday to finish off the wonderful weekend was spending a couple of hours at the New Brighton Hot Pools. Great relaxing finish. Well done to the organisers of this years Matariki Ball and thank you for all your hard work.💪

On the 29th of June Roskill Rovers ventured out into the wilderness. 🥾🌳 We saw afew Glowworms🌟🪱 along the way. Rose had wonderfully prepared all of us hot milo for afterwards. ☕️

Last week Monday Roskill Rovers had a member run a Mahi Tahi night for us. Where we learnt about where to find all our achievements and where we can look for resources. 📖

Over the weekend members of Roskill got their hands dirty with some service for Papatoetoe Scout Group. 🔨💪

On Monday night Roskill Rovers had two emergency vehicles in our driveway. Thanks to one of our members for organising this to happen.

We learned all about what sort of supplies are stored and carried around. Epic night.

Roskill Rovers recently held their National Event, Cocktail Party. What an amazing night it was, our biggest one since these Roskill members started it back up.

Big congrats to our Organisers and the head man in charge Caleb Hall for running a very successful event. And we looking forward to seeing your feedback to help us improve for next time.

On King’s Birthday weekend 6 Roskill Rovers went to Rangitoto Island for a little trip away. Walked to the summit, and around the island 🏝️

Last week Monday Roskill Rovers went to West Wave pool and attacked our water safety skills. Chris from West West Rover crew ran the activity for us, thank you Chris.

This afternoon Roskill Rovers has began the long process of making wine 🍷. Special thanks to Jadzia’s lovely mother for helping us with this. We also had a tasting of homemade wines with a fantastic cheeseboard to pair.

On Monday night this week Roskill Rovers had a link night with Papatoetoe Scout Group. We ran afew fun and exciting activities with the Ventures, Scouts, Cubs and Keas. We then chatted with the older Ventures to convince them to join Rovers in the future.
