What a week at TRENZ in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland — New Zealand’s largest international tourism business event, bringing together hundreds of international travel buyers with leading tourism operators from across New Zealand.

Last week we had the privilege of hosting a series of famil (tour) experiences for travel trade partners, media, and guest speakers from the TRENZ Talks programme, showcasing some of the very best of Waiheke Island on our tours.
Jenny and Brooke also completed three days of scheduled appointments with international travel partners, reconnecting with key global buyers and building exciting new relationships. It was a fantastic opportunity to share what we do, hear fresh market insights, and explore new possibilities for collaboration.

It was also great to connect with NZ industry partners throughout the event too.
We left feeling energised, proud, and excited about what’s ahead for New Zealand tourism.

✨ Tips for planning your day on Waiheke

There's so much to think about when visiting somewhere on your bucket-list and not wanting to miss a thing. Here are 7 common mistakes people make when planning a visit to Waiheke:

1. Not booking tastings in advance

Many vineyards now require reservations, especially on weekends and in summer. Turning up without a booking can mean missing out.

2. Underestimating travel time around the island

Wineries look close on a map, but winding roads, viewpoints and traffic can make the day tighter than expected.

3. Forgetting someone has to drive

If you’re tasting at multiple vineyards, having a driver limits the experience for one person.

4. Assuming taxis and rideshares are easy to get

Transport can be limited during peak times, events and cruise ship days.

5. Not booking lunch

The best vineyard restaurants often book out days in advance — particularly with the views everyone wants.

6. Trying to visit too many wineries

People often plan five or six stops and end up rushing. Three to four quality visits usually makes for a much better day.

7. Not thinking about wine purchases

It’s easy to forget you’ll need to carry bottles around - and get them home on the ferry or flight.
