I did a final round of Mt Cook village, it was a little cloudy and I had decided to sleep in. There was this final shot I had in mind and not been replicated by others before.

When I looked behind me - the most vivid colours were lighting up the sky. It is only than I realise why I was here.

The night before I had decided I wanted to do this for sunrise, the last time I was here - I had missed out totally on sunrise because I had slept in, so this time I was sure to wake up early, or would I?? Check out the full blog entry and few photos, link in bio:

It was a misty Sunday morning; driving through the mountains; it was moody, mystical, magical.
It was only yesterday, though it feels like a world away; so close, but yet so far away. Too many mix of emotions to describe, a photo will have to suffice.

How can you put a different spin on one of the most photographed spots. You can only add your own story to it - a sunset run, stunning contrasting light hitting O'Neill's and Te Henga below, and an epic cliff side single trail. Happy Auckland Photo Day for yesterday!

Beyond Paradise. There is a gravel road which continues alongside the mountain ranges. A small inauspicious carpark; a small sign indicates beginning of a trail. An absolute stunning trail through ancient Beech forest and as you make above the tree tops, the Glacier burns into your retinas, as the clouds meets the mountains.

Life doesn't come with a manual, and neither does creativity. Having a few flashbacks.
With the backdrop of Aoraki Mt Cook, our highest peak, a lone Kea, the world's only alpine parrot, comes to say hi.
