A little mid-year pause from us.
Lately, we've been reminded that the best parts of recruitment rarely sit on a job description or in a placement report.
They show up in the conversations.
The candidate who leaves feeling clearer than when they arrived.
The client who takes the time to think carefully about fit.
The call that starts with a role and ends somewhere much more meaningful.
And sometimes, in the quieter moments between meetings too.
Halfway through the year, we're feeling grateful for the people who trust us with big decisions, new chapters, and important next steps.
Here's to more good work, good people, and conversations that actually mean something.

The labour market doesn't move as quickly as the headlines do.
The latest forecasts suggest unemployment is holding broadly steady. On paper, that points to a market that's soft, but not sharply deteriorating.
What we're seeing on the ground feels similar.
Hiring is still happening.
People are still changing jobs.
Businesses are still making decisions.
They're just doing it more carefully.
For employers, clarity matters more than ever. For candidates, patience and good positioning still make a difference.
The numbers tell part of the story. The conversations tell the rest.

They aced every interview question.
Perfect CV.
Strong references.
Technically brilliant.
And then came the coffee chat.
Not the formal part.
Just conversation.
The human bit.
Because sometimes what people remember most isn’t what you said.
It’s how you made them feel.
Our latest blog explores why emotional intelligence is becoming one of the most important parts of hiring - especially in a world where technical skills are easier and easier to measure.
AI can score competencies.
Humans still feel trust.

Pride Month matters.
Not because it’s a moment in the calendar - but because of what it represents.
The right to feel safe.
To be seen.
To show up as yourself, without editing who you are.
At work, that doesn’t come from a statement.
It comes from the small, everyday things - how people are welcomed, listened to, and respected.
We’re always learning what that looks like in practice.
And we know it’s something you build over time, not just talk about once a year.

Candidates are asking different questions now.
Not just about salary, titles, or start dates.
They want to know:
What flexibility actually looks like.
How decisions get made.
Whether the culture people talk about is real.
And what the day-to-day experience of working somewhere actually feels like.
Honestly, these are the questions that matter.
Because hiring works better when both sides are paying attention.
The interview has never really been one-sided.
People are just becoming more honest about that now.

Pride Month matters.
But belonging is rarely built through one big gesture. More often, it’s shaped quietly.
In the way people are welcomed.
The way assumptions are avoided.
The way someone’s identity isn’t treated like a problem to solve or a topic to tiptoe around.
In workplaces, the small moments matter.
Getting someone’s name right.
Respecting pronouns without making it performative.
Creating space for people to speak honestly and safely.
Making sure people don’t have to shrink themselves to feel accepted at work.
None of this needs to be loud. But it does need to be intentional.
Because belonging isn’t a statement we make once a year.
It’s something people either feel - or don’t - in the everyday.

Good hiring has a feeling to it.
For candidates, it's clarity.
For employers, it's confidence.
And for both sides, it's knowing the decision was made with care.
The best hiring processes don't feel rushed.
They don't feel transactional.
And they don't leave people guessing.
They feel human.
Because recruitment has never really been about filling a role.
It's about finding the right fit, at the right time, for the right reasons.
