Shore Junction is an innovative youth initiative designed to provide a safe space for young people to connect, belong, collaborate, learn, innovate and realise their potential. To achieve this, a range of programmes, events, services and activities (‘content’) will be offered through Shore Junction. This content has been designed around five ‘pillars’ or subject areas:

1. Science, Maths & Enginee

On Thursday we hosted a hui for local youth workers, which we hold quarterly to connect, share knowledge, and learn from each other about the services available to support our rangatahi on the North Shore.

This hui had a focus on supporting rangatahi civic education and development. We were joined by representatives from the Electoral Commission, who spoke with us about youth voting and how we can walk alongside rangatahi to explore where their values fit within politics, and how their voices can contribute to our democratic process.

If you’re a youth worker interested in joining our next hui, flick Conin an email at [email protected] and we’ll add you to the invite list.

Back by popular demand, this years QueerCon will be on 3rd Oct!

A market and live music, this event at Shore Junction welcomes everyone (both the q***r community and our allies!). QueerCon is an event by Rainbow Junction, a group of youth at SJ who hold events throughout the year to platform and celebrate our local q***r community.

Calling all VENDORS -
We are looking for q***r vendors who want to sell at QueerCon.
We're keen on a variety of different stalls. In the past we've had food, stickers, 3D printed goods, and jewellery.

Calling all MUSICIANS!
We are looking for a variety of youth (between the ages of 13 - 24) musicians to perform.

If you're interested, we'd love to hear from you. Click the link below, or you have any other questions send them to [email protected]

At SJ we have a lot of young songwriters and musicians using the space, so naturally our band rooms are really busy!

To make booking our band rooms fair and easy, we're introducing a new 'Band Room Pass' system.

To get your pass, you'll just do a super brief training with one of our team. We'll make sure you know how the rooms work and how to use (and look after) our gear. This includes bands who are already familiar with the space. Once you've completed the training, we'll update your membership accordingly.

We have two band rooms – the 'Indie Room' and the 'Rock Room' – and each one is equipped with a drum kit, mics, amps and leads. We also have a recording studio, which works the same way with a 'Studio Pass'.

We're kicking off this system today.

If you want to book a band room, flick us a DM or give us a call on O21 222 5510. We'll book you in, do your quick training at the start of your session, and then you're good to go as usual!
