What a lovely and fun-filled week we had!
๐ข๐ธ We started the week exploring numeracy through games. Our tamariki enjoyed sorting and matching different numbers with beautiful putiputi (flowers), while developing their counting and problem-solving skills through play.
๐งธ On Wednesday, we celebrated Teddy Bear Picnic Day. Our tamariki were excited to bring their special teddy bears from home. It was wonderful to see them caring for their cuddly friends, taking them on adventures, and including them in their play throughout the day.
๐โ The rainy weather did not stop us from having fun. We brought our water play indoors and spent time creating colourful rainbow raindrops. The tamariki enjoyed exploring colours, sharing their ideas, and expressing their creativity. Rainy days can be a wonderful opportunity for learning, discovery, and imagination.
๐๐ฉโ๐ณ Another highlight of the week was making our own delicious pizzas. The tamariki enjoyed making their pizzas and choosing their favourite toppings, like cheese, ham, and vegetables. During lunchtime, we had real pizzas to enjoy together. There were lots of smiles as everyone shared their pizza creation ideas with their friends.
โจ We look forward to another week of learning, laughter, and making special memories together.

What a fun week we're having! ๐
Our tamariki have been exploring literacy by practising writing their names and recognising letters. In numeracy, we've been working on number puzzles, counting, and problem-solving skills.
We have also enjoyed some messy sensory play, mixing different coloured flours to make soft dough and stretching, squeezing, and exploring different textures. To support our fine motor development, we made special straw necklaces, using our fingers carefully to thread and create our own designs.
It has been wonderful to see everyone joining in, trying new things, and having so much fun while learning. ๐

What a fun-filled week it has been so far!
We enjoyed numeracy learning, Autumn Leaves Day, exploring Samoan culture and language, and a cozy pajama and movie day. Through these meaningful play experiences, we are supporting our tamariki to connect with nature and the wider world while feeling emotionally safe and supported.
It has been wonderful to see our tamariki learning, laughing, and enjoying every moment together. We still have more exciting activities planned and canโt wait for the rest of the week ahead!

Our tamariki recently visited Hill School Primary as part of their transition-to-school journey ๐
The children explored the classroom environment, joined in yoga and mindfulness activities, shared conversations about emotions, and enjoyed hands-on learning through play.
It was lovely to see how confident and comfortable our tamariki were in the school environment, showing how everyday our transition-to-school curriculm is helping prepare them for this next step. ๐โ๏ธ

Today our daycare was filled with pink, smiles, and kindness ๐
We loved seeing our children and teachers come together to support the message behind Pink Shirt Day. At our centre, we believe every child should feel safe, included, and cared for.
Kindness, friendship, and respect are things we try to teach and show every day, and today was a lovely reminder of how important that is. Thank you to our families for helping us celebrate and stand together in the spirit of kindness and inclusion ๐

A MEANINGFUL WEEK!
We learned about Anzac Day and got creative by making a special Anzac Day collage and handprint art ๐บ The children enjoyed exploring and talking about why this day is important.
We also had an exciting visit from our local Police ๐ This was a great way to connect our learning, as we talked about how Anzac Day is about remembering people who served in the past, and how police help serve and protect our community today.
A fun week full of creativity, learning, and new experiences!
