Last week, eleven of our Year 13 Business Studies students headed down to Mystery Creek for an eye-opening day at Fieldays 2026.
One of the highlights was exploring the 'Innovation Hub', where we got a firsthand look at the technology which is transforming agribusiness—from drones and robot dogs to incredible tools like Halter.
Students learnt about the increasing challenges and immense value of the agricultural sector, as well as the upcoming talent gaps that our next generation can help fill. We attended the 'Food & Fibre tent talk', featuring a panel of three young industry professionals who discussed what farming will look like in 20 years.
It was inspirational to hear about the fast-growing agricultural sector with many exciting opportunities opening up for young people ready to lead the future.
Huge thanks to everyone who made this trip possible!

On Saturday, 30 May, Jasper and I attended the Mangawhai Beach Market to sell
exfoliating coffee soap produced by our business, the Clean Coffee Collective. The
day was highly successful, with the surrounding stallholders being welcoming and
supportive throughout the event. We sold a total of 44 bars of soap, exceeding our
expectations. Overall, the market was a valuable experience and we look forward to
returning to the market in Week 9.
