⚫️🔴 50 Games for Taka!⚫️🔴
This weekend marks a special milestone as Takamasa Hoshiyama runs out for his 50th game in club colours.
The kid from Japan who made Papakura his home, Taka first pulled on the jersey in 2021, making his debut against Waiuku Premiers in Round 1. Originally from Wakayama, Japan, and born in Hong Kong, Taka has become a much-loved part of our club, community, and rugby whānau.
Away from the field, Taka is a high school teacher, helping shape the next generation, while on the field he has earned the respect of teammates, coaches, and supporters through his commitment, work ethic, and willingness to always put the team first.
50 games is no small achievement, especially for someone who travelled across the world and found a second home here at Papakura. It’s a testament to the friendships built, the memories made, and the passion he has for the club.
As this is also our last home game of the season, we’re calling on all our old boys, past players, supporters, families, and friends to come down and celebrate with us.
Let’s pack the sidelines, get behind the team, and show Taka the appreciation he deserves for reaching this fantastic milestone.
Congratulations Taka on 50 games, here’s to many more! 🇯🇵

It is with great sadness that we acknowledge the passing of one of Papakura Rugby Football Club's most dedicated and respected members, Ross Mason.
Ross was the epitome of what it means to be a club man. Throughout his lifetime of service to Papakura Rugby, he held numerous roles including Club President, Club Captain, and many others, giving countless hours to ensure our club continued to thrive. His commitment, leadership, and unwavering loyalty to the black and red 🖤❤️ were second to none.
Ross dedicated so much of his life to our club and was immensely proud to be a member of the Papakura Rugby whānau. His presence on the sidelines, in the clubrooms, and within our rugby community will never be forgotten.
Respected by generations of players, coaches, administrators, supporters, and members, Ross leaves behind a legacy that will continue to inspire those who follow in his footsteps.
On behalf of everyone at Papakura Rugby Football Club, we extend our deepest condolences to Ross's family, friends, and loved ones during this difficult time.
Thank you, Ross, for your service, your leadership, your friendship, and your love for our club.
You will be dearly missed, but never forgotten.
Rest easy, Ross.
Forever a Papakura Rugby man. ❤️🖤
