It was a pleasure to participate at this year’s RANZCO conference in Melbourne and present on cataract and cornea surgery techniques and controversies. Always great to see colleagues and learn about new technology.

“ It’s a decade since Simon Fung and I finished our residency at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London. Today, it’s my privilege and honour that my former co-resident — now a respected surgeon and associate professor at UCSF in 🇺🇸 has flown all the way to New Zealand to have his implantable contact lens (ICL) surgery with me and the team at .vision_nz .

I can still vividly remember Simon wearing his glasses during training; and today, watching him finally be free of them feels like a full-circle moment I’ll never forget.”

I arrived in New Zealand exactly 10 years ago today and what a journey it has been. A huge thanks to everyone who has been a part of this decade long journey! I guess the Kiwi way of life suits me.

Had to add another row to my collection of certificates. This latest edition is an honorary fellowship from the World College of Refractive Surgery. It’s been a pleasure to serve as part of the Oceania regional advisory committee to this college for the past 18 months.
