The last edition of our series is a quote from one of our singers Emilie, who explains how magical it is to experience a performer live in person - the emotion and personal connection is nothing a playlist could replicate!
We encourage all our followers to get out there and experience some live, New Zealand music this month, and support New Zealand musicians like ours by including them at your next event.

When event organisers are wanting ‘something different’ to elevate their event, booking professional entertainment is a fantastic choice (perhaps we are biased…) 🙊
In New Zealand and especially Auckland, there are several event entertainment options to choose from, but the trick is choosing the entertainment that suits the event.
In this month's blog, we provide guidance on what style of entertainment suits to different styles of events, taking out a bit of the guess work, without negotiating excellence ✨

There ain't nuttin' like a Western theme 🤠
We have LOVED that this theme has become more and more popular at events, so of course we have plenty of options to add flair ✨
🥂 Themed welcome staff to set the scene as soon as guests step in the door
🎵 Country themed musicians that will keep all toes tappin'
💃 Pop up dance performances, including a line dancing class for those who are eager 💪
Here's what our previous Western bookings are saying:
"We had nothing but positive feedback from the client, and we thought you nailed it yet again, thank you!!"

“I just feel like it’s ingrained in my DNA, it just feels empty when I don’t have it around” 🥰
Our next instalment in our series is from our director Theresa, singer and guitarist at Event Flair.
Theresa talks about how music has been a part of her life, seemingly since birth 😅 she shares how lucky she feels to have opportunities like NZ Music Month to share her passion with the world.
There’s a few songs in here that Theresa wrote a long time ago, her longtime fans might recognise one 😉
Live music is such an incredible addition to any event, and we encourage all our followers to support local bands and music by going to see their shows or booking them for your next event - opportunities to do what we love means so, so much 🥰

At Event Flair, we are passionate about paving the way for the performing arts to become a reliable, respected and sustainable career path.
To support industry professionals and aspirational performers, we offer an exclusive range of workshops and classes for intermediate to professional level dancers:
Workshops on offer are:
✨ Vegas Showgirl Workshop
🎩 Broadway Jazz
💃 Latin Jazz
📚 Industry chats/advice
A full breakdown and more detail can be found here: https://eventflair.co.nz/event-services/dance-workshops
These are either hosted by us as our busy schedule allows (repeatedly sold out, so keep an eye out for the next one!) or on request for dance schools, students and performing arts organisations.
We love hosting these as it gives us an opportunity to teach real choreography from our gigs, and it's a great opportunity to look out for new recruits 👀
If you are interested in booking a workshop for your group, or are an individual wanting to be on the waitlist for future workshops, feel free to get in touch via our website - we'd love to hear from you:

A few notes of feedback from recent workshops:
"Thank you so much for putting on an amazing night, it was such a cool and fun experience"
“Thank you for the class tonight! It was so great to learn showgirl technique as I’ve never actually been to a class specifically focused on that before, so thank you so much for your teaching!! Also loved the choreo!!”
“Thanks for having us at the class! We had a fabulous time, was awesome to see you in your element doing what you love”
Let us know in the comments - which workshop should we tour next?? ✨🎩💃📚

The next edition of our NZ Music Month series is a quote from one of our musicians Dean (guitar, bass, drums and percussion at Event Flair), who explains how experiencing music live in person is something a recorded playlist could never rival.
In person you hear passion, energy, emotion, and it’s an opportunity to be surrounded by others who are feeling the same.
We encourage all our followers to get out there and experience some live, New Zealand music this month, and support New Zealand musicians by including them at your next event.

The roaring 20s... an absolutely iconic event theme, and one that audiences love dressing up for 🥰
This theme is close to our hearts at Event Flair, as it encapsulates gorgeous dancer lines, soulful tunes, and sparkling silouettes - it's the Broadway stage we dream of.
For a classy and elegant evening for the books, we'd love to add our flair to elevate your 1920s themed event from great, to exceptional.

“When I play music live, I get a feeling of freedom” 😍
Starting off our series strong with Stevo on guitar 🎸
We have such incredible talent here in Aotearoa, and there’s no better time to support local artists by booking them for events or going to their gigs. It means so much when you support the thing that brings us so much joy ❤️
Stay tuned for more performer highlights this month from Event Flair as we showcase our incredible musicians 🕺

Quick mirror checks before stepping on stage ✨
A short snippet of our Director Theresa training in Boston, USA! 🇺🇸😍💃 this location holds a special place in her heart, as she shares below:
“I went to visit my auntie and uncle at 14 years old by myself in Boston. My mum was worried sick, but I was well looked after by travel staff and made it to the beautiful city safe and sound.
I kept calling it America, but my uncle in his strong, Boston twang told me that I needed to call it “the States” rather than America, and that I did - with a subtle wink at him every time I said it. I had a fantastic time with my auntie, trying on beautiful prom dresses, and returned back to New Zealand with a suitcase full of sequins and dresses so extravagant I’d be lucky to wear them once (perhaps starting Event Flair was an unconscious excuse!)
In 2024, I got to visit the USA again but extended my trip to Canada to visit my brother in Toronto, to Boston to see my auntie (unfortunately my uncle had since passed) and then to the iconic New York. It was a life changing experience, and I’ll treasure it forever.
“The States” has always had a special place in my heart - my auntie has always been an unwaivering fan of my work, regularly sending me suggestions of what I should do next. To me, New York had always felt like a home for performers, where we were really understood.
This week, we performed for a USA tourism event, and it brought back so many beautiful memories of my time over there and how much I learnt.”
