Max Style
Max Style is an Auckland based commercial and residential property renovation and construction company.
We are a one stop shop - from design to the final completion. We are also a recommended installer of Autex Acoustics products.
Got an attached garage built after 2000? You might be sitting on a goldmine.
We recently converted a garage in Flatbush into a self-contained space — bedroom, bathroom, living area. Total cost: $150,000. It now rents for $500/week — that’s $25,000 a year in income, against just $7,500 in interest.
That’s not just extra income — you also increase the value of your property and build more equity to invest again.
Andrew Ardern from Loan Market Howick structures these with a revolving credit facility, giving you a 6-month buffer while you find tenants. Worst case covered. Sleep easy.

Blockhouse Bay exterior renovation, in progress
The concreting is done, which is the part that sets everything else up. From here it’s building work, then painting, then landscaping to finish.

The Investor’s Guide to Renovating for Profit
Smart investors renovate differently.
Hard-wearing materials. Nothing fancy. Stuff that lasts 20 years.
Paint and floor coverings first - best return on investment, every time.
Then run the numbers: a full reno can add $100–$150/week to your rent and let you choose your tenants. 💡
Let Max Style show you how to renovate smart.

Floor and wall coverings upgraded across 15 classrooms, three offices and the dance studio, gym toilets and changing rooms refurbished, and a staff kitchen upgrade - all our school holiday projects delivered on time and on budget ✅
While we were busy on the schools, we also made great progress transforming the LSKD retail store 🛠️
New walls built and finished for a storage room and 5 fitting rooms - now ready for paint.
Next up: the full retail fit-out - custom display tables, shelving, illuminated mirrors, hang rails and more, right through to the finishing touches. More to come 🔨
Turn Wasted Space Into a Bedroom. Add Value. No Consent Needed.
Did you know reworking your existing floor plan to create an extra bedroom can add $50K–$100K to your property value - plus $100–$200 extra per week in rent?
No extensions, no new footprint — just smart reconfiguration of the space you already have. In most cases, no consent needed. Just an update to your council file.
The numbers speak for themselves. 💡

Is your switchboard looking like this? Your home could be one shock away from a serious accident ⚡
Old ceramic fuse boards like this one were standard for decades, but they only do half the job. They’ll stop a fire or overload, but they won’t protect you from electric shock. Those fuses only trip on a major fault - if someone touches a live wire or faulty appliance, the current through their body isn’t enough to blow a fuse, so the power just stays on.
An RCD fixes that gap. It picks up the tiniest current leak and cuts the power in milliseconds, before a shock turns serious.
If your switchboard still looks like this, it’s worth getting it checked - whether or not you’ve got renovations on the cards.
