Always appreciate when people leave comments on my YouTube videos. Whilst there's not been any new content in a while (working on it!), it's great to see comments pop up on a plethora of videos I've published over the past 17 years.

I am noticing similar sentiment lately, where people have highlighted an appreciation for my content focusing hardly on value and more on artwork and the sheer joy of collecting. I don't ever see that changing, and I've always remained true to form for near to two decades, but I have noticed an uptick in this kind of conversation.

No doubt it's due to how things have shifted significantly towards investment in the hobby, and that's just the new norm now, but I'm stoked to be able to have lived in a time where it was quite different - and my videos, and that of others around at the time or who remember, are a bit of a time capsule reminding us of those simpler times for sure.
..even though I can't bare to watch my old videos at the best of times haha!

Really proud of her and stoked for her stepping into a new career and growth chapter this week.

The last few months have been testing, moments where she was made to feel small, where her worth was questioned, and where it would've been easy to just accept the self-fulfilling narrative that was put on her.

She never fit the mould she was expected to fit, and she never tried to. Her quiet, steady nature has too often been conflated with a lack of confidence, or even leadership. However, many who truly know her understand that such quiet strength is exactly what carried her through this, and several challenges she took on, without fear.

She led by staying grounded, by doing things with integrity, by asking the hard questions instead of settling for easy answers, and by continuing to trust her own judgement even in an environment that made her doubt it. She stayed honest, did the work, and backed herself every step of the way, even when it was uncomfortable, and even when it would've been easier to stay quiet.

I'm glad she stood her ground, and I expected nothing less.

Earlier she told me that she's actually enjoying getting up to do her mahi again. Can't express just how genuinely good it felt to hear her say that. It was the biggest sense of relief and I could see that energy return (even though she's a bit poorly at the mo!)

Watching her rise above every expectation placed on her, and come out the other side stronger, has been yet another moment I'm immensely proud to have seen her push through.

So, to a new career chapter - congratulations!

Man. What a fantastic weekend at Auckland Card Show! It was awesome being back on stage and everyone was so hype! 🙌

I'll be doing a proper wrap at some point soon, with a ton of content to come, but I wanted to take a moment to share a genuine highlight for me.

I finally got to meet one of my long-time viewers, Brendan !🎉

Brendan has been watching and supporting PokeCollection for over 14 years. A true OG and whose name I've never forgotten, much like many of you who have tuned in from all over the world. Whilst my memory continues to test me at the most of times, I've always remembered certain names and user handles over the years, and when I started this journey, what meant the most to me - and still does - are the friendships and community spirit that I got to build. Being able to hop online and jump into conversations will continue to be the kind of escape that always brings me back to feel good times - and it's something that actually followed me into my professional career!

It's always awesome to meet viewers of mine, so it was seriously so good to finally meet you, Brendan, after all these years of support! Thanks for always being around, your support and for being an all round good human. Such a wholesome, full circle moment. 😊🙏
