♠️ INTRODUCING MAGIC ♠️
Born and raised in Fiji, Magic moved to Tāmaki Makaurau at 14. Growing up between islands and cities shaped how they see movement, as a way of carrying stories, identities, and communities wherever they go. Dance has always been Magic’s first language, the place where they found expression, freedom, and belonging.
Magic’s practice as a performer and choreographer deepened through their involvement with The House of Coven, including headlining Pride Galas, presenting exhibitions in gallery contexts, performing in original works curated by The House, and appearing across festivals and club gigs. Alongside this, Magic is an active member of the Aotearoa Ballroom community, where they have won Grand Prizes in OTA Vogue categories and S*x Siren. Ballroom continues to be both a home and a key source of inspiration.
Working across a range of q***r dance styles, Magic’s practice is united by a belief in movement as storytelling, empowerment, and cultural expression. Their work is grounded in their mixed Fijian heritage, q***r identity, and a commitment to creating spaces where others can see themselves reflected and celebrated.
