It’s not often we pause long enough to see the full picture.

This short reel captures a handful of projects we are working on right now across Australia, New Zealand and Vanuatu. From waterfront venues to neighbourhood locals, and considered refurbishments to multi-faceted hotels.

Different briefs. Different scales.
A consistent commitment to thoughtful, human-centred design.

Working across regions keeps us sharp. It challenges assumptions, expands perspective and reinforces what matters: clarity of concept, material integrity and spaces that feel as good as they function.

At the heart of Mother is the counter.

Layered, sculptural, and built with purpose — it anchors the room and sets the pace.

Quietly complex.

Hardworking by design.

There’s nothing precious about the materials at Mother.

They were chosen for how they feel, how they wear, and how they’ll hold up over time.

Everything here was chosen to be lived with.

Not just looked at.

Mother has a strangely comforting sense of belonging.

Newly opened, but somehow already part of the neighbourhood.

The materiality leans brutal - stainless, tile, stone- but the feeling is anything but. It’s warm, approachable. Easy to be in.

A space full of contrasts that land just right.

The closer you look, the more there is to see.

Every junction, join, and material change at Mother was considered, not just for how it looks, but how it feels, functions, and fits.

It’s the kind of detail most people won’t notice, but they’ll feel it.

Beneath the surface of Mother is a machine.

Every inch was planned to support a high-functioning commercial kitchen and front-of-house service: multiple counters, each with their own role, all feeding into one seamless experience.

Flow is everything. You can trace a tray of flour from the back door to the table — across prep zones, glass partitions, counters and oven.

What the customer sees is clarity. What’s behind it is a controlled kind of chaos — and that’s by design.

Good design makes hard work feel effortless.

Mother was imagined as more than a café. It's a production hub, a hospitality engine. With 15+ staff moving through the space at once, every surface, zone and transition had to be accounted for.

The result is a space that feels calm, even when it’s running at capacity.

Mother walks a fine line: stainless steel and raw tile meet walnut timber and butter yellow tones.

It’s not quite nostalgic, not quite futuristic. It’s something in between. Familiar but new, structured but slow.

We think of it as sculptural hospitality: design that feels both mechanical and handmade.

A space that holds tension, and balances it simultaneously.

Mother seems to be the newest café on everybody’s lips, and for good reason.

It’s what happens when product, experience, and place align under a single, clear vision.

The kind that doesn’t chase hype, but earns it.

Mother is more than a café. It’s a signal.

A shift in pace, in tone, in ambition. A hospitality space that sets a new bar for what’s possible when you combine strong vision with detailed execution.

We’re proud of this one. Not because it’s popular, but because it’s clear, refined, and exactly what it set out to be.

Mother: the newest addition to the lineup, created in close collaboration with renowned operator Hugo Baird.

From Lilian to Hotel Ponsonby to here, each project has carried its own personality, but all share the same foundation: clear intent, shared vision, and space with purpose.

This one feels different. Sharper in tone. More distilled in form. A considered evolution in stainless, tile, and calm restraint.

The kind of project that doesn’t chase trends, it defines its own pace.

And one we’re proud to have brought to life.
