New Zealand's only Mini Macaden operator.

Up to 1,000m² a day. Consistent quality. Every single run. The kind of capability that changes what's possible on a large-scale membrane programme.

Water doesn't care about the membrane. It looks for the detail you didn't get right.

Nine times out of ten, roof membrane failures trace back to upstands, termination detailing, penetrations, and flashings, not the membrane sheet itself.

These are the areas that get rushed under time pressure, and the ones that cause the most damage years down the track.

After more than 50 years of troubleshooting these exact problems, Sansom has developed a belt and braces approach to every installation. Because the cost of getting it wrong far outweighs the cost of getting it right.

You won't hear this on any other waterproofing site in New Zealand.

This is the Mini Macaden. New Zealand's only torch-on applicator of its kind, operated exclusively by Sansom.

Big projects are built by teams willing to solve complex challenges together.

At Fisher & Paykel Appliances’ new headquarters in Penrose, we were able to deliver a highly detailed warm roof installation across one of New Zealand’s largest mass timber developments.

Working through changing weather conditions, complex detailing, and hundreds of roof penetrations, the team planned carefully, adapted as necessary, and collaborated on site to keep the project moving forward.

A behind-the-scenes look at the people helping bring this landmark project to life.

Having the right systems and the right people in place isn't optional.

Meet Tony, QA Consultant at Sansom, and the person making sure every project is documented to a standard that holds up, long after the work is done.

He works across all four of Sansom's divisions to make sure that when a client asks a question, the answer is already documented and ready to go.

That's what doing it once, and doing it right, actually looks like.

Behind every successful refurbishment is a strong partnership on site.

At Orams Marine in Auckland, the Sansom team has been working through demolition, waterproofing and resurfacing stages with careful coordination to keep the busy facility operating throughout the upgrade. A big thank you to the team at Orams Marine for their collaboration and support in helping the project run smoothly so far – we’re nearly there!

Take a look behind the scenes at the people, precision, and teamwork driving the project forward.

Details are everything.

The Sansom roofing crew on Fisher & Paykel Appliances' HQ in Penrose faced a unique challenge: installing a warm roof system across an exposed timber structure with no weather protection on site. Every evening, night joints were installed to make sure the day's work was completely watertight before the team called it a day.

That's the standard we hold ourselves to on every project.

At Sansom, QA is treated as a long-term commercial viability metric across all four of our divisions: membrane roofing, tanking, facade, and concrete repairs.

A combination of QA reports sent to clients, issues raised on site, and pass/fail status updates tracks how consistently site teams are engaging with the system, and how well they're managing risk before it becomes a costly liability.

Documentation is worth a lot when it comes to specialist construction. When the finger-pointing starts, you need to be able to provide evidence of your workmanship quickly.

Documentation runs deep at Sansom. With tradespeople who have decades of experience on the tools, the focus is on capturing that expertise in real time, so when a client needs answers, the evidence is already there.

Check out our Q&A with our QA Consultant, Anthony Murphy, on why documentation matters more in specialist construction trades than almost anywhere else.
