Putting in my Mother’s Day order for next year.
Mother’s Day ideas:
(for those fortunate to still have theirs)
• go and visit and fuss over her
• take / send her flowers / groceries
• make that call / sit and listen
• make those reservations at the place she’s mentioned
• give her that meaningful hug
• savour those moments
Mother’s Day ideas:
(for those fortunate to
help children celebrate)
• let Māmā sleep in
• get the laundry washed, dried, folded, put away. Yes all in one day. Try it.
• serve coffee without asking
• take the kids out a few hours
• rinse and repeat tomorrow
Mother’s Day ideas:
(for those still trying or those grieving what could have been)
• be gentle on yourself
• pets / nieces / nephews / siblings all count too!
• may the day be kind to you
• feel free to borrow some kids today
• may you find peace within
Mother’s Day ideas:
(for those stepping up as a Māmā)
• you are next level amazing!
• they may not realise it now, but you’ll be one of the biggest and brightest influences in their lives
• be proud of what you can offer
• may you get the recognition you deserve
Happy Mother’s Day to all versions of Māmā

Hari Huringa ki a koe my bestie!! Love you so much!
This video captures us to a tee - Lisa holds the microphone 🎤 and Georgie takes over the koorero 💬 😆 Thank you for pinning us down to make this video. It has turned out to be so amazing.
Update so you know what we (and you) are up to on Saturday (29 Nov) - Te Paa, Waikato Uni from 10am-4pm (ish). See you there x
When you haven’t prepared for a maakete stall before and you panic and grab ALL OF THE EVERYTHING. Getting ready for Saturday 28 Nov - Waikato Uni (Paa) 9am-5pm. We will also have snacks. 👌 👌
Psst! Come meet Georgie and I up at Waikato University this Saturday (29 Nov) for our very first maakete (market stall). We need mates!!!! First time we’ve been there together since we studied there as baby teens! Wonder what memories pop up… or traumas. 😂
20-21 Nov1863 - Battle of Rangiriri
One of the key clashes in the Waikato invasion.
1,400+ British troops confronted
a meagre 500 Maaori, who were resisting the spread of British settlement and colonial authority in the North Island. The costliest battle of the land wars for both sides leading to the capture of 180 Maaori, significantly weakening the Kiingitanga’s ability to stand
against the much larger British force.
