Back in the day, Aussie kids treated the whole neighbourhood like a playground.
No phones, no tracking apps, no “mental health day” because you lost at Fortnite.
You drank water from the garden hose, rode your bike till the streetlights came on, and if you came home with clean clothes your mum assumed you’d been kidnapped.
Nowadays the average Aussie kid’s biggest outdoor survival challenge is weak WiFi near the trampoline. One generation was raised by footy, dirt bikes, and getting told “you’ll be right.” The other gets emotional damage from a low phone battery.

Same country. Completely different species. 🇦🇺
