Your marketing web should cater to customers at different engagement levels. As explored in my book:
đ¸ď¸Create content for awareness, consideration, and decision stages.
đ¸ď¸Tailor messaging to speak to each stage's needs.
đ¸ď¸Monitor engagement to identify which stage your audience is in.
đ¸ď¸Continuously adapt and refine your web based on feedback.
How do you ensure your marketing web meets the needs of various customer stages?

đ Oh my goodness! I saw the most incredible dress the other day. It was amazing
It was also $595
And I only had $75 in my budget
đ So of course - I said to the designer âhey I know the dress is $595 but I only have $75
So can I just get something just like that dress but for $75
And she said
NO
And that was FAIR
Set your prices. Stick to your prices. Be a designer dress if you want to, but donât then take other offers because your value doesnât meet their budget. Their budget isnât your responsibility

Procrastinating your marketing? Letâs get you moving.
Look, I've got to come clean. When someone like Verity Craft from Intelligent Ink decides to work with me, I know Iâve got to bring my A Game
Because Verity knows her stuff. Sheâs an expert in her field (like most of my small business owners) and sheâs coming because she means business.
Sheâs not there for the shallow stuff. She wants analysis, clear actionable tasks specific to her needs, and a business of stuff that either sheâs going to do, a team member will do or it will be outsourced.
Because when Verity makes an action plan - you know itâs going to happen.
My job was just to help her know what to put on that plan, to get some nitty gritty action points on there for my own expertise, and then help her prioritise what needed to be done first to get the hidden sales, the growth into new markets, and further develop Intelligentâs Ink position both here in NZ and on a global scale.
Better yet, being able to do it with business partner Christina at her side meant they could make the necessary calls and decisions and get things moving straight away.
If youâre an action taker who loves (and knows you need) a plan, youâre going to love getting that marketing action plan locked and loaded. All it takes is two days with me and a small group of like minded small business owners.

BURNOUT - Who's had it?
Here's the exact moment I knew I was in deep trouble.
When I realized I was EXCITED for a medical procedure last year because they were going to knock me out - which meant I was going to get some actual sleep.
I'd been burning the candle on both ends for seven months - only stopping work to quickly eat, or crash into bed for a few hours.
And I was burned out.
This was the moment I realised something HAD to change
Because of my commitments I know I couldn't make huge changes for another three months - so I spent that time thinking about
1. What I want my life to actually look like
2. What habits I was going to have to prioritize to make that happen
3. What I was going to have to say no to
4. What I was going to have to hand over to someone else
5. How I was going to stay on track, no matter what
There's no point building a business that kills you.
It's pointless to wear out serving lots of people in a short period of time, when you can serve more, at a slower pace, over a longer period of time
And there is definitely more to life than business
Here's hoping the next time I have this procedure, I'm not hanging out for the enforced sleep!

Who else is thankful for how past work experience has shaped their skills in their own business?
Rod never expected to find myself working with small business owners, but he genuinely loves it. Thereâs something special about working directly with decision-makers and seeing the impact of our work almost immediately.
In Rod's corporate years, I spent a lot of time building and refining business systemsâoften with big budgets, where every new system was carefully scoped, tested, and rolled out in stages. While it took time to see the full impact across an entire organization, it was incredibly satisfying to watch those systems go live and make a difference.
Now, working with small businesses, the focus has shifted, but the goal is the same: setting up systems that truly work for each business. With Zoho, that means designing a CRM that fits right in with how the team already operates. The goal is always to simplify, streamline, and make work easier.
For many of my clients, this looks like:
A CRM that tracks leads without the admin hassle.
Automated follow-ups that keep clients engaged without needing constant reminders.
Systems that reduce workload and give teams the clarity they need to focus on what matters most.
If youâre looking for a CRM that supports your workflow and saves time, Rod would be happy to show you what we can achieve with Zoho.
