Of Branch Creek, Cardrona, Wanaka. Passed peacefully at Leslie Groves Hospital, Dunedin early on Sunday morning, August 23, 2026; aged 80 years and four days.
Much loved and cherished wife of Raymond Eric (Ray) for 54 years, loved mother and mother-in-law of Isabella and Glen (Branch Creek, Cardrona), Barbara and Ralf (Carey’s Bay, Port Chalmers), and Natasha and Des (Branch Creek, Cardrona), cherished Granny of Jessie, Brianna, Jacob, and Caitlyn (Branch Creek, Cardrona) and
partners, loved daughter of Hazel Cook* (née Gait) and Thomas Ernest Cook*, daughter-in-Law to Eric William* and Mary Jane (Jean) Anderson*, and sister to Felicity, Helen, Thomas, and Stephen* cousin to Alan and Hazel Eatwell and Aunty to Monica Prescott, Ben Eatwell, and Morgan, Simon, and Lockie Cook.

Much loved carer and caterer to countless cats, dogs, sheep, alpaca, calves, baby birds, and strays of any description. She will be missed.
The family would like to thank the staff at Taieri Unit Leslie Groves, and Lisa Barlow (Chaplain) for the care and compassion shown to Mary during her time in Dunedin.
A celebration of Mary’s life will be held in the Cardrona

CONNELL, Henry
Passed away peacefully on Tuesday August 4, 2026; Aged 74 years.
Much loved husband of Philippa, dearly loved father of Sarah, Charles and Lucy, and adored Poppa of Arthur, Edward and George.
He will be remembered for his quick wit, storytelling and a remarkable medical career that helped so many.
A celebration of Henry's life will be held at the Wanaka Community Hub, 34 McDougall Street, Wānaka, at 3pm, on Saturday August 15.

EASTON, Raeleen Joyce (Rae) (née Hutchison, formerly White)
Passed away peacefully on July 31, 2026; aged 65 years.
Cherished and much-loved mother and mother-in-law of Kristi and Chris Read (Greymouth), Jessica and Matt Mackinlay (Dunedin), and the late Erica Rae White, adored Raema and Nanny of Henry, Samson, Lottie, and Ava, dearly loved daughter of the late Bob and Gay Hutchison, loved sister and sister-in-law of Helen and Ken Dynes (Wanaka), Kevin and Carolyn Hutchison (Dunedin), and treasured Aunty of all her nieces and nephew, now reunited with her much-loved dogs, Rupert, and Paddy.
A special acknowledgement and heartfelt thanks to the staff of Te Nikau Hospital, Greymouth, Christchurch Oncology and Cancer Society, Greymouth.
A memorial service to celebrate Rae's life will be held in the Alexandra Bowling Club, 2 Poole Road, Alexandra, at 1pm, on Saturday, August 8. Rae requested everyone to wear bright colours in her memory.

Loved husband of Dawn for almost 70 years, father and father-in-law of Steven, Phillip and Sally, and Richard and Jo, a proud grandfather of his six grandchildren and the late Rebecca, and his three great-grandchildren.

It is the saddest of times for our Whanau. Jess died suddenly due to a medical event in Ranfurly on Monday July 20, 2026, whilst walking his beloved Reiko.
Beloved husband of Donna, father to Mackenzie, Charlie and Ella. Son of Dave (deceased) and Avril and stepson of Angela. Brother of Matthew. Much loved nephew, cousin, brother-in-law friend and role model to many.
Thank you to the wider community for your incredible support. We are devastated and our hearts will be forever broken. Thank you to St John and Ranfurly Fire Brigade, Anne and Lynette you will be forever our heroes.
A service for Jess will be held in the Maniototo Stadium, Ranfurly, at 1300hrs, on Tuesday July 28.

Dearly loved wife of Nick* for 70 years, much loved Mother and Mother-in-law of Henri and Diane, Johnny and Trudy, and Sue*, dearest Oma to all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Loving sister of Barry and Maria*, and a favourite Aunty to all her nieces and nephews. (*denotes deceased).
